Pet Sitters Ireland Nose of Tralee 2025 (Semi Finalists)
Antrim
Button – Antrim

Button would make the perfect Nose of Tralee, and here’s why. His loving, affectionate nature brings joy to everyone who meets him, and he has an uncanny ability to warm even the most hesitant heart. Whether it’s a shy person or a dog skeptic, Button’s gentle presence and infectious smile have a way of breaking down barriers. One of Button’s most endearing qualities is his eagerness to please. He’s always ready to perform his begging routine, with a heart-melting smile and the softest little whine that no one can resist especially when food is involved! His absolute favorite treat? Apples, hands down. But even more than food, Button’s love for people knows no bounds. He’s not just devoted to his family he adores anyone and everyone. Sometimes I wonder if he’d go home with just about anyone who says “hello” to him! Button is a true lap dog at heart. He loves rolling onto his back for belly rubs or curling up in a cozy ball on my knee for a nap. His presence is the perfect comfort, and there’s no greater feeling than having him snuggled up close. He’s not just a pet; Button is a vital part of our family. I truly can’t imagine my life without him, and I’m so grateful for the joy and love he brings every day.
Vinny – Antrim

Meet Vinny, our 2 year-old greyhound. He is the tallest and kindest boy you will ever meet. Vinny ran just one competitive greyhound race before his former handlers discarded him. He faced the same sad circumstances as many unwanted racers, but fate intervened and we were able to adopt Vinny, giving him his first real shot at life. Vinny came to us with noticable signs of trauma from his upbringing. He was nervous around people, terrified of cars, and didn’t know what to do with toys. He would freeze mid-walk and have to be carried back to the house. All 37kg of him. He spent his first three weeks learning to trust again. But with a lot of patience (and chicken), Vinny turned a corner. Now the word “walkies” has him trotting to the front door to go out and sniff every bush and greet the neighbours, who eagerly await his morning and evening rounds. Vinny has a regular rotation of well used toys beside his cosy sunlit corner. Beneath his chiseled physique is a gentle soul. Vinny walks without pulling, meets other dogs with calm curiosity, and respects every boundary. He thrives in early retirement and loves nothing more than a lengthy belly scratch, enforced by resting a giant paw on your lap. Vinny embodies the heart of this competition: a second chance, the power of kindness, and everyday courage.
Daisy – Antrim

Daisy would make a pawsitively perfect Nose of Tralee because she’s the full package: beauty, brains, and a whole lot of bounce! Daisy is not just a pretty face with flowing cocker spaniel ears. She’s a joyful spirit who brings smiles to everyone she meets. Daisy has a special knack for connecting with people. Her playful posts and waggy adventures brighten days and lift spirits, which is exactly what the Nose of Tralee should do.
Armagh
Tess – Armagh
Tess was a rescue dog , picked up as a stray with no known history. Flea bitten and malnourished, nervous and timid, she stole our hearts with her deep doe eyes. How could we not resist? Her journey from stray to being crowned Nose of Tralee would be an inspiration to all those in rescue, waiting for their forever home. She is the apple of our eye and hopefully the apple of our county!
Hamish – Armagh

Hamish is a charming 2-year-old Standard Poodle with a heart as big as his fluffy paws. Currently training to be a therapy dog, he already makes a difference at an Armagh primary school, where he brings smiles and comfort during his weekly visits. When he’s off duty, Hamish enjoys nothing more than exploring dog-friendly cafes, dining out in style, and taking long, scenic walks. A proud pup of the Orchard County, Armagh, Hamish also has a soft spot for the sandy shores of Donegal and Portrush. With his perfectly groomed curls and lovable personality, he turns heads wherever he goes’and absolutely adores the attention! He’s friendly, gentle, and endlessly affectionate’the apple of his daddies’ eyes (pardon the Armagh pun)! Hamish isn’t just a pretty face’he’s got the soul of a superstar. That’s why he’d make the perfect Nose of Tralee!
Binx – Armagh

When you meet Binx, you can’t help but fall in love with him. He has an infectious smile who always makes heads turn on our walks, which he loves as people always want to stop for a pet. He loves the attention, not just from people may I add. Binx lives on a farm & has a great relationship with our cows and calves. He likes to give them a wee lick and vice versa He’s a special boy
Carlow
Dotsy – Carlow

Meet Dotsy a tiny bundle of fluff with a huge personality and the kind of charm that could melt even the iciest heart. She’s a Maltipom with a mission: to spread joy, one zoomie at a time! Dotsy may be small, but her quirky spirit is larger than life. Whether she’s doing her daily zoomie routine through the house like it’s a racetrack, tilting her head at you with curiosity, or turning strangers into friends with just one wag of her tail, she’s got a magical way of making every day feel special. She’s not just adorable she’s got the personality, spark, and star quality that the Nose of Tralee title was made for. Dotsy represents the best of what our furry friends bring into our lives: love, laughter, and boundless energy. She’s not afraid to be herself silly, sweet, and a little bit sassy and that’s what makes her unforgettable. So why should Dotsy be the next Nose of Tralee? Because every time she zooms by with that cheeky grin, she reminds us that life is meant to be lived with joy and maybe a few extra treats.
Luna – Carlow

Luna is a real fluffball who likes to stay abreast of current affairs, she is a fierce and loyal protector & companion to her canine sister. She is silly and fun and likes to keeps fit with her ball . She loves flowers and nature and once you are in her trust she will love you unconditionally forever .
Max – Carlow

Max is a 2 year old Pomsky born on the 9th of August 2022. He’s the biggest ball of fluff with the most prettiest eyes. His favorite toy is a tennis ball and there’s nothing he enjoys more than being outdoors running around playing fetch. He loves showing off all of his tricks between sit down to giving paw and has recently just learned how to roll over and spin around, he’s such a clever boy. He enjoys going for a walk or visiting our local pet store knowing we won’t be leaving without treats or a new toy.
Cavan
Lightning – Cavan

She is full of life. Always knows when one of us is down and will come over and nuzzle. She is also a diva. I swear she thinks she is an egyptian goddess and expects to be treated a cordingly
Max Smith – Cavan

My German Shepherd Dog Max would make a great Nose Of Tralee because he cause so much for people who show him attention and he loves playing around with anyone Max even has people calling to the house just to see if he can come out and play he’s a big friendly boy. He also saved me on days that my mental health isn’t the best he just sits beside me doesn’t judge me just sits and listens which is just what I need. My dad who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and sadly passed got Max to look after us as he sadly know he wouldn’t be able to do anymore and the dog is the best thing he even got because if you’re having a bad day you’ve to get up and bring Max for a walk and when the walk is done you feel better rather than just staying home Max is honestly my best friend and I’m so glad he came into my life I’ll never be able to thank him enough and he’s such a kind calm dog he gives big dogs a good name which nowadays big dogs don’t really get unfortunately. Thank you for reading my story on my dog should be a Nose Of Tralee.
Patrick – Cavan

Patrick is the master of cosy. He is such an affectionate cat. He regularly leaves one of his toy mice on our bed to show how much he cares for us. On the other hand he is also very strong-minded and he would certainly be very proud to be crowned the Nose of Tralee. Patrick likes to go outside for some adventures but he also likes his playtime at home. His favourite hobby is to wake up from the deepest nap as soon as somebody opens a treat with a shiny wrapping. It only takes a second for him to sit next to you. He waits for you to roll the wrapping into a ball and throw it so he can play with it. He picks it up and brings it back to us to throw it again and again and again. Patrick is quite a cheeky little guy and I believe he would really deserve to win the Nose of Tralee competition. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Clare
Toby – Clare

Originally from Mayo now living in Co. Clare and being the boss of the house in no time. This elderly little guy is 14 this month. I inherited him after my Dad went into a nursing home in May 2024 and used to take him to visit Dad regularly in the home. Dad passed away in Feb and the three of us had a last night together in the Mayo hospice. This old lad has got a second wind and despite being deaf and not having many teeth his nose is in great working order and he can sniff out my dinner at any distance! I hadn’t planned on getting another dog after loosing my last one but being Dad’s little bestie I couldn’t let him go and have grown to love him so so much! He loves car rides and he has taken over the house (my poor) and also my bed¦ suddenly a king size leaba isn’t big enough for me and a Bichon!!! The first time I brought Toby back to Dad’s house after he passed away, he ran straight down to ‘their’ bedroom looking for him, it was heartbreaking’” Having Toby with me helps me feel close to Dad and the delight in seeing the lively little man he has become is fantastic. As I write this he is lying on my feet so I can’t move or go to bed without him
Precious – Clare
My daughter Rebecca brought this beautiful fluffy bundle of love into my Celtic jewellery store in Ennis Our gorgeous Precious today 12 years later…(her 12th birthday is in 2 weeks but everyone thinks she looks about 6) To say that she has brought joy & love into our lives is an understatement… In fact she is actually my therapy dog as she has kept me together after my beautiful Rebecca’s nightmare diagnosis of stage 4 cancer 7 years ago aged only 29… I say I have 4 limbs & Precious is my 5th limb as we do everything together… She sits at the door of my shop every day & my God does she get attention & is petted at least 20 times a day She brings smiles & joy to everyone & is adored
Baaaanjo – Clare

Presenting: Baaaanjo The Tiny Titan with a Big Bleat Ladies, Gentlemen, and Distinguished Goat Appreciators, Hold onto your hay bales, because entering the ring is a creature so bold, so bafflingly brilliant, so pint-sized yet powerful it’s Baaaanjo, the Nigerian Pygmy goat with the heart of a lion and the size of a toaster but twice as loud and four times more fashionable. Don’t let the dainty hooves fool you ‘ this little legend has big goat energy. While others nibble politely on grass, Baaaanjo charges headfirst into life (and sometimes into fences). His motto? “Why walk when you can leap onto the garden table like a caffeinated parkour artist?” Now, some say greatness runs in the family ‘ and it does. His big brother is the one and only Baaaaaaarrney McKenna: goat, mentor, and occasional rival in synchronized bleating. But where Baaaaaaarrney brings the brawn, Baaaanjo brings the flair, the finesse, and the occasional dramatic faint when he’s feeling theatrical. His talents include: Turning heads and stealing snacks Ninja-level sneaking into places he shouldn’t be And giving side-eye that could curdle milk He’s got the spirit of a rockstar, the agility of a caffeinated squirrel, and the fashion sense of a rugged runway model who’s never worn pants. So why should Baaaanjo be the 2025 Nose of Tralee? Because the world needs a hero ‘ not the tallest, not the loudest, but the funniest, fiercest, and fluffiest. And that, dear judges, is Baaaanjo. Size Doesn’t Matter When You’re a Legend: Vote Baaaanjo The Bleatles of the Barnyard Now Touring Your Hearts Tiny. Beardy. Trouble. Accept No Imitations. Baaaanjo The Hoof-Hearted Hero of Goatdom Too Cute to Handle. Too Goat to Quit
Cork
Sandy – Cork

Sandy came into our lives in 2022, mainly fluff and all smiles. Since that time, our lovable big boy has been our constant companion ‘ as we said a thankful goodbye to the COVID-19 pandemic, moved into our first home as a family, and, with some trepidation on his part, adopted Dandy and Stripe the donkeys. Throughout thick and thin, changes in jobs and careers, international travel and adventure, challenge and opportunity, Sandy has been our brave puppy dog. His cartoon eyes never cease to bring smiles to our faces. His happy tail has healed many a trouble. His warm snuggles turn any bad day to good. And even though he’s never caught on to his own size, Sandy is the delight of West Cork and a welcomed guest on any night out, prone to asking for more pets and sitting happily by his family’s side. A champion sailor, Sandy has accompanied us on many a maritime adventure, even landing himself on the Fastnet Rock. For Christmas in 2023, wearing his most festive bowtie, Sandy even kept us company when his dad proposed and I said yes. And again, Sandy was steadfastly with us when we said I do in Dingle on May 23rd this year. To his absolute delight, he was able to join us on the steps of the church, and again for a tasty pint in the famous Dick Macks. And only one glass was broken by an overzealous tail. Should Sandy be the Nose of Tralee, we know he would bring the same joy, happiness, and exuberance, just as he has with our family and friends. Sandy is truly the most lovable, lovely, and loved dog ‘ and we would love to share that with you all.
Bradley – Cork

Born in Wexford in Oct 2023, Bradley moved to Cork at an early age. Despite living in the rebel county Bradley is a keen Kerry Football supporter, as evident from his tiktok account @bradleybear. A well travelled Cavapoo, this loyal doggie has followed the Kerry team throughout the league visiting Derry and Mayo, and hopes to visit Dublin soon on the quest for Sam. However his favorite trips are always to the Kingdom where he enjoys the scenery around Killarney and loves running through the fields of Ballyduff. Bradley is great with kids, and is very sociable with dogs and humans alike. He would be a great ambassador for the beautiful vale of Tralee and the entire Kingdom of Kerry.
Spencer – Cork

Meet Spencer aka Spenny, Spenny Wenny, The Menace, Stop Barking Spencer, Come Back Spencer You get where we’re going with this! Spencer is a 10-year-old West Highland Terrier who lives up to every inch of his classic terrier character. He’s stubborn, he’s a master escape artist, and yes he loves to bark (a lot!). But behind all that cheeky behavior is the most loving, sweet little dog you’ll ever meet. Everyone who knows Spencer knows just how affectionate he is. He adores people, is great with kids, and while he may bark at a few dogs on first meeting, it’s never long before his tail takes over, wagging his whole body as he showers new friends with kisses. He’s full of energy when he’s out on adventures whether it’s a long walk or a good hike with friends. But don’t be fooled: he can also sleep like a pro, clocking in a solid 14 hours and waking up with the best bed head you’ve ever seen. Spencer would be honoured to represent Cork in this year’s Nose of Tralee. He may be small in size, but he’s absolutely huge in heart, personality, and charm!
Donegal
Idah-Rose (The Donegal Doll ) – Donegal

I am a very petite pug with massive personality. I just turned two in April and in those two years I have brought endless laughs and affection to my family. Everywhere i go people want to pet me and of course I love the attention. I think my shining personality and cute little face would make me the perfect Nose Of Tralee !!
Jordan – Donegal

Jordan is an American Cocker Spaniel who’s been living in beautiful Donegal for the past three years ‘ but his story began far away. He came to Ireland from Ukraine after the full-scale war broke out, becoming a true lifeline for his family in the hardest of times. More than just a dog, Jordan is family ‘ the one who brings comfort, smiles, and strength when the world feels heavy. In Donegal, Jordan found his peace. At first, he was scared of water ‘ he’d run from every wave. But now, quiet beaches are his favourite places. From sandy shores to mountain trails, we’ve shared countless slow walks, sunsets, and gentle moments. This magical part of Ireland taught us to live slowly, love deeply, and savour every sniff of sea air. Jordan explores new trails every weekend and proudly walks to the office with his mom every day ‘ because he hates being left behind. Friendly and calm, he’s always ready for an adventure or a cuddle. Through his Instagram, Jordan shares the sweet and funny moments of his life, celebrates the human dog bond with his mom, and shows the world how special Donegal truly is. We believe dogs deserve more than just gardens and short walks. They deserve memories, connection, and a chance to explore the world with us. Now, maybe it’s time for Jordan to share a little piece of Donegal’s beauty ‘ and his gentle spirit ‘ with all of Ireland.
Ghost – Donegal

Ghost is a 1yr old Border Collie Mix with a personalityas big as his fluffy tail. Rescued as a puppy from Clare Animal Welfare, he has grown into the sweetest boy, even though he can be a little nervous at times. But what makes him truly special is his bond with his big brother, Casper. Ghost joining our family has helped Casper gain so much confidence and helped him overcome and improve some of his reactive challenges. Ghost is more than just a handsome pup – he’s proof that rescue dogs can change lives.
Down
Biscuit – Down

Biscuit came to live with us a few months back coming from a home that wasn’t much fun for him. He has since adapted to his new life with two other little Yorkie’s and he is now a happy well adjusted little man who loves life
Bess – Down

Bess is almost a year old & she joined us in August 24. She is a feisty typical Yorkie who loves to play & tug of war with anything she can. She is great with other dogs & just loves people. She is a real social butterfly
Seamus – Down

When life was a little too quiet, a little too grey, and in need of a spark, a small curly ball of joy came bounding into my world Seamus, my toy poodle. At just ten months old, Seamus is a pocket-sized powerhouse of love, loyalty, and more mischief than I ever bargained for. From the moment he arrived, he’s filled my days with laughter, my evenings with comfort, and my heart with the kind of love only a dog can give. It’s only fitting, as we approach his first birthday, that Seamus takes his rightful place as the next Nose of Tralee. A Heart Full of Love (and a Nose for Timing) Seamus is more than a pet he’s family. And he doesn’t just reserve his love for me. When I head off to work, he stays with his doting grandparents, who are utterly besotted with him and the feeling is entirely mutual. He showers them with affection, tail wagging furiously at the mere sound of their voices, keeping them company with his trademark brand of cheekiness and cuddles. But don’t be fooled he always knows exactly when it’s nearly time for me to return home. Seamus has figured out that the Emmerdale theme tune is his cue. The second those familiar notes come on the telly, he sprints to the door, tail high, ears perked, waiting to greet me as though I’ve been away for weeks, not hours. His timing is impeccable and his loyalty, unshakable. Seamus the Superstar (in Training) Despite his small size, Seamus has big dreams particularly when it comes to football. He’s an avid player with footwork that would make Messi jealous and the agility of a seasoned midfielder. Whether it’s dribbling a mini football around the garden or intercepting passes with laser focus, Seamus is ready to be called up for Down or Armagh (we live in Newry, so naturally, he’s keeping his options open!) When he’s not perfecting his pitch skills, he’s charming everyone he meets. With a bounce in his step and a twinkle in his eye, he’s always ready to make a new friend whether human or canine. He’s never without a wag of his tail or a kiss on the nose, winning hearts left, right, and centre. The Nose That Knows Seamus’s nose is the stuff of legend. He can sniff out a treat from the next room, track down a hidden sock in seconds, and, most importantly, sense every shift in my mood. He knows when I need a moment of calm, a burst of energy, or just a snuggle on the sofa. His nose doesn’t just find it feels. It connects us in a way that words never could. And his sense of empathy goes far beyond scent. When I’m overwhelmed, he’s there. When I’m joyful, he’s twice as happy. When I need grounding, he plants himself firmly by my side. His companionship is constant, his love unwavering. Quite simply, I would be lost without him. Why Seamus Deserves to Be the Nose of Tralee The Nose of Tralee is about more than a clever snout it’s about a bond, a story, a dog who makes life better by just being who they are. And that’s Seamus in every paw print: A devoted grandson: Cherishing his time with his grandparents with love and gentleness. A genius with routine: Emmerdale = Mum’s coming home. Enough said. A footballing phenom: Hoping for a call-up from either county he doesn’t want to offend! A loyal best friend: Always present, always loving, and always ready for whatever the day brings. As we near his first birthday, I can’t think of a more fitting way to honour this incredible little dog than by seeing him crowned the Nose of Tralee. He’s got the nose, the heart, the humour and every trait that makes a toy poodle perfect. To me, Seamus is not just a pet. He’s joy. He’s family. He’s everything.
Dublin
Penny – Dublin

Penny is a very special 2 year old rescue who came into my life a year and a half ago. She didn’t have the easiest start in life, but from the moment we met, one thing was clear: her heart was full of love, and she was ready to share it with anyone willing to accept it. Despite her rough beginnings, Penny hasn’t let that hold her back. These days, she’s living her absolute best life! Whether she’s doing zoomies at the park or chewing up every stick she finds, Penny makes the most of every moment. And when the excitement winds down, you’ll find her curled up on the couch, perfecting her skills as a professional napper. Penny has a big heart and an even bigger personality. She’s cheeky, clever, and knows exactly how to charm her way into getting an extra treat (or three). With her big brown puppy-dog eyes and an impressively well-timed sit, she’s pretty hard to resist! When its time for a walk, Penny doesnt wait around- she trots into the kitchen, proudly carrying her own lead and harness in her mouth like shes saying “Come on, we’ve got places to be!” I think Penny would make a great Nose of Tralee because shes full of love, mischief and personality that wins over everyone she meets. Vote for Penny because every rescue deserves their moment to shine!
Hank – Dublin

Hank the Labrador is more than just a handsome pup ‘ he’s a sniffer extraordinaire with a heart of gold! Whether he’s tracking down treats or sniffing out snuggles, his nose knows best. With his wagging tail, soulful eyes, and boundless charm, Hank would make the perfect Nose of Tralee ‘ because every scent he follows leads straight to love and laughter!
Bobby – Dublin

My name is Bobby and I’m a five year old golden retriever. Although my owners would say I’m part human. I’m a goofball and love attending all of the doggy events throughout the country. I love toast, chicken and puppachinos so much so I often run away from my owners in the park. Don’t worry they can find me waiting in line for a puppachino in the cafe. Every time my owners go away they have to get me a new toy to make up for leaving me. I sniff through their bags to find it when they get home. I also love going to the beach and jumping over the waves. My owners love to dress me up in a new bandana for every occasion and I have to put up with it. I know I am very handsome so I do smile for the 1000 pictures they take of me. All round I’m just a dog living a dogs best life!
Fermanagh
Stanley – Fermanagh

My name is Stanley and I am 6 years old. I love to play and have walks in the forest and sniff my surroundings. I help Mummy look after my disabled brother. I love to play with him and make sure he is safe. I am so friendly and happy all of the time.
Enzo – Fermanagh

He is a very pretty boy who has a fear of the outdoors
Harley aka Herbie.onwheels – Fermanagh

Harley started life in Australia. He is eight years old. Harley was rehomed from a local rescue in Fermanagh three years ago. He makes friends everywhere he goes and loves being the center of attention and meeting new people. Harley accepts and embraces the fact that he looks and walks different to other dogs and has to do things in a different way. But that’s okay, there’s no pity party here. All Harley wants out of life is his ball, cuddles, and to get into his wheels for walks. Harley has brought so much joy and happiness to others while volunteering to visit nursing homes and special schools I think its now his time to shine and be crowned Nose of Tralee.
Galway
The Nellie Bellie – Galway

From the moment we laid eyes on Nellie we knew that she was the one. Her siblings all ran up to us whilst she hid under the table scared and shy. The first night home with us she lifted up her food bowl that was bigger than her and put it on my dad’s lap. That was the moment we knew she was a clever pup. Nellie is a Jack Russel (or at least that’s what we were told) from county Galway. She is 10 years old but when she is out and about we constantly hear look at that puppy! and your puppy is so cute. She might be 10 years old but she has always been just a puppy. Her playfulness and sense of adventure has never changed. If Nellie is ever ‘missing’, you can be sure to find her in what we call sun spots. A place in our home where the sun shines just right, a natural warm blanket. Nellie LOVES to swim, hail, rain or snow, she is in the water. Sometimes if she isn’t done swimming, she will sit in the water so we can’t bring her home. Nellie also loves the playground, she can’t go on the slide or the swings but something tells me she just knows that’s where the fun is. She starts to speed up on our walks when she knows the playground is nearby. Nellie brings people together, her Instagram started out in Covid just posting photos for our family but now she has people from all over the world following her. I asked her followers to send in some of their favourite things about her and this is what we got; her love for the water and sun, her beautiful eyes, her waddle, how friendly she is with other dogs and how photogenic she is. It would be a dream come true if Nellie was to win the Nose of Tralee, she is the heart and core of our family and we would be lost without her. This is why she should win the Nose of Tralee.
Khai – Galway

I genuinely think I got some very good karma from fostering dogs for Madra for a few years because when it finally came time for me to have a dog of my very own I landed with the best in Khai. He’s a beautiful bilingual boy (irish + english) happy, kind, gentle, calm, intelligent and loves everyone, and everything, comes with me everywhere I go be it trips away hikes up mountains, sitting in cafes restaurants etc. Is the best companion anyone could ever ask for. He naturally knows when someone is upset or down and seeks them out to comfort them. Even comes to visit the local nursing home whenever there’s a chance and brings a bit of gentle giant joy to everyone’s day by laying his head in their lap. Currently waiting to complete his assessment to officially become a therapy dog on the 30th of June (fingers crossed) so that he can then visit other nursing homes around Ireland and spread joy. The gentlest boy with small children growing up with my two little nephews around even letting them paint his nails, and dress him up in there hats! Always up for adventure and always wanting to meet new people and dogs if he even sees someone make eye contact or smile at him he’s straight over to say hello! Just overall the gentlest soul always greets everyone at the door with a teddy of choice, and a wiggle of the bum. Loves travelling in the car going all over Ireland on his road trips! Comes in and out of his original home the beautiful Inis Mor by plane and boat every second week visiting family and friends. Loves his breaks there running free on the beaches and soaking up the sun. I think everyone needs a Khai in their life. Genuinely wish ye could meet him.
Belle – Galway

Because she is the best friend a girl could ask for. She is so gentle and loves everyone. She brings so much joy to other people. They always stop to say hi and she gets lots of rubs. Belle comes everywhere with me. She is incredibly loyal and great with other dogs. She is the greatest dog in all the land.
Kerry
Shelly – Kerry

Shelly is our rescue dog that we adopted from our local pound here in Kerry. We got her 3 months after our beloved family dog Lucky passed away at 14 and we were devastated, so she arrived in our lives when we needed her most. She has rescued us more than we’ve rescued her. She was found straying and was really timid when we first met her. Even then, her tail has never stopped wagging. It took a while for her to fully trust again and she was especially scared of other dogs, but she’s come on leaps and bounds and if you met her now then you would never know. Her sweet demeanour and gentle soul were are what stands out about her (besides her extremely long eyelashes) She’s a quiet girl and usually never barks. The only time she gives orders and makes her voice known is when she wants to play. Her favourite things are head pats, her army of squeaky toys and nibbling on soft blankets. She’s a bit of a diva and has worked hard to achieve and maintain the bronze highlights on her head by sunbathing whenever she gets the chance. She has brought such joy into our lives we hope she can do the same for all who meet her.
Hugo – Kerry

Hugo came into our lives in February & he’s brought so much love into the family. We lost our 14 1/2 year old Yorkshire terrier last November. I never thought it was possible to love another dog the way we loved Rocky. Everyday in Hugo’s life is full of fun. He’s loves going for walks & making new friends while he’s out & about. He goes to doggy care at The Paw Pad in Tralee where he’s made lots of new friends. He just loves all the attention he gets from everyone he meets.
Max – Kerry

Hi there! I’m entering my puppy Max from Tralee in the 2025 Nose of Tralee Pet Competition. If happiness had a face, it would be Max’s. At just 3.2 pounds, he’s proof that the best things come in small, curly packages. From his morning tail wags to his nightly snuggles, he brings smiles bigger than his entire body. He doesn’t bark, he welcomes. He doesn’t run, he bounces. And every stranger is just a friend he hasn’t kissed yet. Maxy Moo is tiny in size but huge in personality, He is my joyful little teddy bear who lights up every room he enters. Whilst we have only had our energetic little puppy for just over a month, I, as well as everyone he meets falls in love with him. Maxy has such a fantastic and gentle temperament, he is SO friendly to everyone. He’s only 12 weeks old so he has a lot of life to live and so much love to give. It wasn’t an easy start with Max, after many vet visits and many many tears later wondering what was wrong with him (He is my first born!), the vet diagnosed him with chronic IBS/IBD- I was so worried he wouldn’t make it on a few occasions. Luckily our little warrior is fully recovered now and on a treatment plan that works amazingly for him. Max has already learned how to sit, give the paw, lie down, stay and roll over! He will do just about anything for a treat. When we first got him, he pretty much potty trained himself- we would call him our little genius ‚ Hailing proudly from Kerry, this cheeky Toy Cavapoo believes everyone he meets is a fan, and honestly they always are. His skills include posing for a photo (once there’s a piece of chicken wafting over the camera of course!), perfecting the sad-puppy-eye trick, gardening (he loves to dig) and steal my socks like a spy. If the Nose of Tralee is about charm, warmth, and melting hearts in every county then this little Kerry lad is ready to take the crown (and probably try to chew it!). He doesn’t chase fame (only tennis balls). Tralee needs a Nose that represents the unconditional love pets give us every day. Max is ready to sniff his way into the nation’s hearts. Let’s put the woof in the Kingdom of Kerry
Kildare
Wally – Kildare

Wally would make a great Nose of Tralee because he is just the sweetest and most wonderful boy. One of his humans had such bad anxiety before they got him that she couldn’t even bring herself to leave the house most days. She had lost all motivation, and Wally has turned her life upside down in the best way possible. Wally gets his human out of bed early in the mornings now for breakfast, and even brings his human out on walkies to get her out of the house. He’s very social and loves meeting people and dogs which has pushed both of his humans out of their comfort zones! He has really and truly changed his humans’ lives for the better and they couldn’t be more grateful to have found him.
Stephanie – Kildare

Stephanie became part of our family almost 7 years ago. We adopted her from a rescue in Wicklow but now she’s an all Kildare girl. From day one at home when she was just 10 weeks old, she knew her people are not so skilled as cats. For that reason she feels she’s responsible for us. She takes care of her people like a cat and a dog in one fluffy body. She suddenly appears wherever her people go, just like she was going that direction. She never leaves our sides and comes over when we call her. She improved our lives and we can’t imagine a world without her-amazing-purrfect-self!
Kai – Kildare

Kai is a big gentle teddy, who loves cuddles
Kilkenny
Cookie – Kilkenny

Cookie is 11 years old, is full of beans and loves belly rubs and beach zoomies! He’s been with us since he was a pup and still insists on being the centre of attention (and the front seat passenger on road trips to horse shows). He’s a gentle soul, brilliant with kids and has a knack for making people laugh with his goofy personality. Cookie’s got charm, wag and plenty of woof what more could you want in a Nose of Tralee?
Mia – Kilkenny

Mia is the sweetest, quirkiest little shih tzu, she lives for belly rubs, so affectionate, sweet and good natured, she makes everyone smile
Bridie – Kilkenny

Best Friend a woman could ask for. Picks me up when I’m down & the bestest girl in the world.
Laois
Izzy – Laois

She would make a great Nose of Tralee as she has an EXTREMELY nosey personality. Whether she be at your feet for the day, or doing little piggy snorts in the window because she sees a dog, or losing the plot because she can sense a cat near, she needs to know everything. Despite her Irish mammy-like nosiness, she nose (excuse the pun) when you just need the paw or a cuddle or a kiss and will be at the ready at all times to share her love. She knows how to cheer you up on the spot and will succeed no matter what you’re upset about. She’s the best <3
Lord Groucho – Laois

Just look at him! He’s the most cuddlesome, tubby little sausage. And he does these adorable little head tilts when you’re talking to him. He gets his name for being growly with his foster mum when he was first rescued but turned out to be a teddy bear with the cutest little meows
Anna – Laois

Hi, my name is (Princess) Anna. I’m an American Hairless Terrier. Who needs hair when you’ve got flawless skin. I’m 9 months old. I’m full of energy and I love to talk, everywhere I go, I yap, yap, yap, yap because I’m so happy to see everyone. I wear clothes a lot of the time because it gets cold and I wear factor 50 sun cream because I can get burned easily. Blankets are my favourite thing and I love toys. I love being carried around and I can sit comfortably on your shoulder when you’re walking around. I have three brothers, two of them are hairless like me and two sisters. I have 6 cousins (cats) four are hairless like me. We all have loads of clothes in our wardrobe. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Leitrim
Socks – Leitrim

Socks loves cuddles of his aunty Louise. He loves to sleep in front of the fire. He is most affectionate, wild kitty anyone could meet.
Holly – Leitrim

My pet would make a great Nose of Tralee because she is super duper cute. Holly loves playing with balloons and footballs. Holly also loves sitting out in the sun. Her favourite thing to do is go for walks and adventures. Holly would be a good Nose of Tralee because she is a very playful and friendly dog. Not only does her sweet nature and gentleness make her stand out from other dogs but her soft white coat with an unusual black spot on her back tops off everything. No matter what, Holly is always happy so see someone, eager to meet and greet them with a happily wagging tail. I think it would be nice if we return this kindness to her. Holly would be over the moon if she won Nose of Tralee. She would be so happy.
Sonny – Leitrim

I think Sonny would make a great Nose of Tralee as he is a very happy dog who loves cuddles and walks. He loves to meet new people out and about. Sonny is a very happy dog who has brought great joy to our home. It is a great way to meet new people and be introduced to different pets all around Ireland
Limerick
Cocoa – Limerick

Cocoa is the perfect name for our chocolate Sprocker! Cocoa is a 7 month old Sprocker (Springer-Cocker) who loves to play, tail wagging at every moment. She is an attention seeking monster who loves meeting new people. One of Cocoa’s favourite things to do is to play and if given the chance she will play all day. She also loves the garden and bounding through the flower beds (yes the pic was very hard to take!) Cocoa also loves to eat the flower beds, that gets her into trouble! She loves food and will eat anything in her reach. If you leave something on the floor she has it in her mouth before you can say Dang it! Cocoa is an amazing dog that we want to win and I think Cocoa wants to win too.
Cici – Limerick

Hi there! My name is Cici, and I’m a three-month-old miniature poodle with a love for life and a nose for adventure. Though I might be small, I’ve got a personality as big as the hills of Ireland! Every day in my cozy home, I’m on the hunt for new scents, new friends, and new treasures. Whether it’s sniffing out my favorite toy hiding under the couch or discovering the sweet aroma of flowers in the garden, my nose is always on the job. My humans say I have a talent for making the ordinary extraordinary and they might just be right! My journey to the Nose of Tralee competition began with a simple idea: why not share my joy with the world? From the moment I wake up to the time I snuggle into my bed, I’m all about spreading smiles and wagging tails. My curly coat, floppy ears, and signature paw wave (it’s my special trick!) have already won over my local community. But my proudest skill? Using my nose to help others. Whether it’s sniffing out a missing sock or guiding my humans to the treat jar (you’re welcome!), I’ve learned that a good nose can bring people together. I dream of representing my county as a symbol of love, curiosity, and fun everything a pet should be! So here I am, pawing my way into the Nose of Tralee with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart. Vote for me, Cici, the littlest sniffer with the biggest dreams, and let’s show everyone that the tiniest noses can make the biggest difference!
Millie – Limerick

Meet Millie, a one-year-old rescued Cavapoo from Limerick with a heart full of mischief and a soul that feels like an old friend. We believe she was sent to us by our beloved Bichon, Bob, who passed unexpectedly after 13 wonderful years. Millie is Bob’s girl twin in spirit ‘ cheeky, clever, loving, and full of charm ‘ like he knew exactly who we needed and sent her our way. Since joining our family in February, she’s become the heartbeat of our home. She lights up every room, brings laughter on the darkest days, and has a magical way of making strangers into friends. Whether she’s riding shotgun with her head out the window in her signature goggles, or chatting away with her Amazon buttons, Millie lives every day in full wag. She’s also a bit of a fashionista with a wardrobe to envy ‘ and a growing fanbase on Instagram: @the_life_of_millie2024. Through her page, we’ve connected with an incredible community, just as special as she is. Millie loves big, plays hard, and cuddles even harder. We like to think Bob’s watching over her proudly, tail wagging in approval. After all, only he could’ve picked such a perfect little sister!
Londonderry
Belle – Londonderry

She’s a beautiful dog love’s people and especially children is very gentle. Typical female
Peanut – Londonderry

Peanut would make a brilliant Nose Of Tralee, Peanut is our wee senior pup, he’s 13 and a half. He’s had a busy life working in best his mums dog grooming business (being a wee mini celebrity) although he retired from working 2 years ago. He is loved by everyone who meets him and enjoys his retirement now taking it easy. He is such a character and loves his human sisters who have grown up with him, he’s not so keen on his dog and cat brothers and sisters lol. He absolutely has no time for his wee hamster brother‚ He loves his wee bits of ham and his Carnilove treats. He’s a wee man who k owes what he likes, especially live a run to see his Granny. The best way to sum Peanut up is that he’s a cheeky happy
Tigger – Londonderry

This is Tigger from Derry, our one year old rescue kitty who very much takes after his namesake. Tigger has had a traumatic first year but has bounced back so well. That picture was taken on our wedding day and 2 days later he went missing. Miraculously, 6 weeks later he was handed into a vet clinic 15 miles away but his 2 back legs were broken and he was a shell of his former self. The amazing vets and surgeons were able to save both legs and after months of recovery he was back to his energetic wee self.
Longford
Zeus – Longford

Zeus,. He is my little buddy He’s a happy little chat and has big name for a small dog but the name matches the personality ,loves his walks, treats and adores people Always has a little dance and big tail wag for everyone
Obvious-Lee – Longford

We call her Ovi for short.. we got her as a positive distraction, as my husband was awaiting major surgery. Unfortunately, my husband passed away at the end of may, and little Obvious-Lee has been our positive distraction.. she loves company, and has found her favourite spot ,on my husbands side of the bed.. Obvious-Lee is a lurcher, and poor lurcher are a breed of dogs that are so often over looked.. when we decided to get a dog, a greyhound was always the choice, and seeing the litter of lurcher in the ispca won our hearts, and little Obvious-Lee has won the hearts of everyone who has met her, ..
Nora – Longford

Nora sparks joy. As a family, we have always had dogs. My parents got the first family dog in 1969 and there has always been one or two or three in the house since then. Until 2019. Our previous dog, Milly, died and, due to COVID and a family tragedy it just never seemed to be the right time. Until we met Nora. We saw her picture, did the research and she leapt into Dad’s arms and that was it. We hadn’t realised what we were missing as a family until Nora came home. She fell in love with her animal family of two cats and we fell in love with her. Her sense of fun, her love of toys, her love hate relationship with the cats and her utter devotion to all of us. She loves us unconditionally and that is reciprocated by us. She has made our lives better.
Louth
Sonny – Louth

Mayo
Casper – Mayo

Meet Casper! Our 4 year old 40kg of fluff, love, with absolutely no concept of personal space. This Goldendoodle is a gentle giant with the heart of a teddy bear and the sneaky skills of a snack detective. If you’re missing a slipper or a sock, check his toy basket it’s where all things eventually end up. Casper has two comfy beds (kitchen and living room, thank you very much), but insists on sleeping like a starfish in my bed. He enjoys long romantic walks to visit his pony pals, sticking his head through fences for a nose-to-nose chat, and riding shotgun in the car with his ears flapping in the wind like he’s in a shampoo commercial!! He’s mastered all his tricks paw, high five, sit and his favourite: Kiss, which guarantees him at least one treat…or two…or three. He loves regular visits to his groomer Claire who he believes is his personal spa therapist! He’s clever, cuddly, and convinced he’s the head of the household and honestly, we’re not going to argue with him!!
Buddy – Mayo

Buddy was adopted from the North West SPCA Ballina in 2021. He only had one eye when I adopted him. Unfortunately, that eye became infected and he had to have it removed. He hasn’t let his disability slow him down and he is the most affectionate, clever boy. He has brought so much joy to our home. He relays on his senses to get around, and I have to say, he has an exceptional nose as he can sniff out yummy cat treats a mile away!
Maisie – Mayo

Maisie is my best friend. She’s 10 now and ever since rescuing her at 6 months old she has rescued me through mental illness, job loss, financial difficulty and setting up my little dog minding business. She helps me every day and is also involved in animal rescue voluntary work. She is the best thing in my life and I want to celebrate her kind, fun and so loving nature.
Meath
Xander – Meath

Because he’s the sweetest, funniest, mischievous handsome maine coon that brings me so much joy.

DASH – Meath

Meet Dash, our spirited little dachshund with a nose for adventure and a heart full of love. He’s more than a pet, he’s our shadow, our comfort, and our joy. Dash reminds us daily that animals don’t just share our homes, they shape our hearts and our lives and we would be lost without our little Dash.
Monaghan
Coco – Monaghan

Coco is a fun loving little pup she’s 7 months old and is full of beans‚ she is a great little companion, a quick learner, she loves children and playing with other dogs. She is also spoilt but how could u not spoil her she’s just the cutest she also knows how to wave, she loves to wave while meeting new people
Hose – Monaghan

This little cat resembles a cream egg McFlurry! She is wise and elegant and independent. The emotional support she gives would make her an ideal Nose of Tralee.
Lily – Monaghan

Started life in a puppy mill. Now a rescue girl living her best life. Most loving gentle soul all trauma forgotten.
Offaly
Casper – Offaly

Casper is three months old and is growing quickly. He may, we suspect, be a Polar Bear. He is determined to be the 2025 Nose of Tralee, anything is paw-sible… he doesn’t want to be a pound dog. He’d love the pup-arazzi. Paw-lease vote for Casper.
Pugba – Offaly

Pugba is a loving caring playful little man who bring joy and comfort to all he meets, he loves to give kisses and cuddles and make your day, there’s never a dull moment with him around, he will sit and pose for the camera, he’s not fussy with treats, and loves to share his treats with his doggy friends, he is full of energy and love to be the centre of attention, he loves to model his doggy outfits and loves trying different foods, hes great with helping me socialise too. I think this would make him a good candidate as he’s also great with all ages too. He brings so much joy to family and always checks on us when we’re ill and always there to put a smile on our faces
Bailey – Offaly

Meet Bailey, our 7 month old heart-stealer in fur. Her free kisses bandana isn’t just a fashion statement – it’s a promise! Bailey may be shy but once she warms to you, she manages to sneak into your heart and tends to stay there fur-ever!
Roscommon
Alison – Roscommon

Alison, Ali, or Princess Alison, (whichever you prefer) is our beautiful 12-year-old husky mix with a heart of gold and a tail that still wags like a puppy’s. She’s got a big personality, a wise old soul, and the kind of fluff that demands admiration. This year, she’s facing one of her worst battles an extremely large tumor. She’s due in for surgery very soon which will require weeks of aftercare and lots of cuddles, but we know she is going to get through it because she is so strong and brave! Life hasn’t been easy for Ali, she recently lost her sweet son, Pudding, far too soon, and it broke all our hearts. But in true resilient fashion, she’s stepped up as the loving (and occasionally bossy) step-doggy to a bouncy 3-year-old cockapoo named Charlotte, who keeps her on her toes, and our rescue cat, Shadow, who knows how to test her limits. Even with all the ups and downs, she’s still the queen of our world – our princess. Loyal, hilarious, full of cuddles, and without a doubt the best dog ever! Allison’s favourite activities include giving out kisses to everyone, sunbathing and, of course, she always has a soft spot for a few treaties!
Dollie – Roscommon

Dollie is our very special family pet who came to us as a puppy. Since the day she came into our lives she has brought us endless joy with her bright, at times mischievous but for the most part fun loving personality. This clever girl never ceases to amaze us with her ability to not only know what we are talking about but also at times what we are thinking about too. Over the years Dollie has acquired many tricks such as opening doors and unwrapping presents however her favourite trick of all is stealing any biscuits she might lay her eyes on, especially when she thinks nobody is watching. Birthdays are a big event in Dollie’s life. When the first note of Happy Birthday hits the air Dollie is the first to join in. A gentle nudge of her nose or furry little paw on your knee, accompanied by those big brown eyes means that Dollie’s presence is always felt, especially as an early morning wake up call. Dollie has become such an important member of our family that it is almost impossible to imagine life before she arrived on the scene. In light of all the above we believe that our wonderful Dollie would make an excellent Nose of Tralee.
Bailey – Roscommon

Bailey would make a very good nose of tralee because he is the most loveable dog I have ever seen. His favourite thing to do is show that he loves you by licking your face. I don’t think he has ever meet anyone without showing love by licking their face. Bailey is like a baby because he is a very needy dog. But sure I would be really lost without Bailey if I didn’t have him in my life. I really think that Bailey thinks he’s human because he loves to eat everything us humans eat. That’s why we don’t get much peace at dinner time because we always have to share our dinner with Bailey. But with that lovely little innocent and smoosh face you could hardly ignore him. I truly think if Bailey could talk, that he would talk. I honestly think that Bailey does be trying to talk to us everyday. Honestly I think my dog Bailey is the best dog for doing stretches. He loves doing stretches like yoga stretches. He is even better than us humans. Another thing he loves doing is having his head out the window of a car on a windy day. Sure yet again he is like most bichons because he loves having his ears flipped. Bailey is like all bichons because he loves to sleep, he loves to be fiesty, he loves to do zoomies everyday and he loves a smoosh face. Bailey is always the life and soul of the party. Even on our toughest days, Bailey always brings a smile to our face. He is the most friendly and lovable dog.
Sligo
Goldie – Sligo

Goldie my bunny is fluffy and very funny. He loves to hide in tunnels and likes to nibble on some carrots. He is so sweet and cute! I called him Goldie because he is the colour of gold. And I am sure he will bring me some luck.
Milo – Sligo

Meet Milo, our 3-year-old Cockapoo who isn’t just a pet he’s a furry miracle wrapped in love and a little mischief. He lives with us in the scenic beauty of Sligo, but his tail practically wags off whenever he hears the word Galway because that’s where Grandma Bob and Grandad live, and visits to them are filled with cuddles, treats, and endless love. What makes Milo truly extraordinary is something you can’t teach his innate emotional intuition. In any crowd, busy street, or overwhelming moment, he instinctively knows how to bring calm to the storm. With just a nuzzle or a gentle look, he grounds me in ways I never imagined possible. No training, no cues just love and understanding that flows straight from his heart. Our journey together hasn’t always been smooth. Finding a dog-friendly home felt like an impossible dream at times. We faced rejection after rejection, heartbreak after heartbreak but we never gave up. Today, we are finally in our forever home, built with love and ‘importantly’ paws in mind. Watching him stretch out comfortably in a space that is truly his is a joy that words can barely contain. And oh, the tricks! Milo is a little Einstein with fur. From high-fives and rollovers to praying and waving to people, he keeps us laughing and amazed every single day. But his greatest trick? His unmatched kindness. Children adore him whether it’s a toddler tugging at his ear or a shy child needing a friend, he responds with only gentleness and joy. Milo isn’t just brilliant he’s soulful, funny, endlessly loving, and the heart of our family. He’s more than deserving of this recognition not because of what he’s learned, but because of who he is. Our best friend. Our silent comfort. Our joy on four legs.
Rua Rue the Cavapoo – Sligo

Rua would be the PAWFECT Nose of Tralee and here’s why: Rua came into my life in 2022 after being bed bound for 2 years prior due my medical condition. She brought light into the darkness that had been thrown at my family. Rua helped me through all the ups and down, being a comfort during seizures and being comical when things were tough! Rua puts a smile on the face of everyone she meets and intentionally seeks out those who need a cuddle most. Rua loves zooming across the beaches of Sligo, especially Strandhill, having a sniffairi through Slish Wood and calling in to her favourite dog friendly places for a puppachino or best of all, Chicken! Many of Rua’s Pawsome pals have visited Sligo after seeing how beautiful it is through her Instagram! As far as a CV, Rua has done it all! She’s modelled and been on professional photoshoots, she’s a Pawfluencer with over 6.5k followers her Instagram, been to college with me and brought comfort to other students on the tough days and helped people overcome their fear of dogs within college, she’s got a plethora of tricks including spin, speak, bow, cry and more, a gigantic human wardrobe full to the brim of outfits for every occasion and she’s even been on the stage playing ‘Sandy’ in the musical Annie! She really is one in a million and I couldn’t be prouder of her! She is the perfect Nose of Tralee, showcasing just how capable dogs are and how much value they can add to not just the life of their owner, but everyone they meet along their way. If you’d like to keep up with Rua and our journey, you can find her on Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook @ruaruethecavapoo· Thank you for reading and best of luck to all the Noses of Ireland
Tipperary
Phoebe – Tipperary

Phoebe is very playful, active and loves attention. She has the confidence to take on the world but then when it comes to it she just barks. She was very passive with kids and loves to be rubbed. She’s very protective of her owner and loves her comforts. Sitting in front of the fire is probably her favourite thing.
Mabel – Tipperary

Mabel is the queen of cute! She is an (almost) 3 year old, long-haired chihuahua. She loves getting into everyone’s business and being the centre of attention in every room. She loves to yap, she’ll gladly tell you what she wants and what she doesn’t want! She also loves giving kisses, whether she hasn’t seen you in a day or an hour. When she’s not being a little diva with all her demands, she is a complete cuddle bug. She loves nothing more than getting cosy with her favourite people while wrapped up in a blanket, maybe the only thing she likes more are presents, even the word “present” sends her ears shooting up, so much so that we now wrap her Christmas presents which she (not so) gently opens every year. Mabel is the light of our lives and not a day passes that she doesn’t make us laugh. She’s already our Nose of Tralee, hopefully she’ll be yours too!

Tyrone
Leo Bear McVeigh – Tyrone

As you can see Leo always has to have something in his mouth. At 5 years old Leo needs appreciated for his lack of understanding when it comes to personal space, instead he follows me to the bathroom, sleeps under my blanket, he adores gazing into my eyes with our foreheads touching. Leo loves his winter jumpers (perfect for keep out the cold after grooming). This little cockapoo came up and sat on my lap when he was 4 weeks old and he hasn’t left my side yet.
Cosmos – Tyrone

Cosmos is my universe as his name suggests He sociable smart loves children and other dogs
Enid – Tyrone

Enid is a 3 year old chihuahua and queen bee of the Glam Chi Crew. Full of sass and joy she loves absolutely everyone and can easily be described as a living, breathing ray of sunshine. Enid goes to charity events and fundraisers all over Ireland where she flies the flag for rescue dogs and helps raise awareness for animal rescues. She loves posing in her cute outfits and getting hugs from people, especially kids. Enid almost died last month after emergency surgery and her vet described her as the strongest little dog they had ever seen. The phrase “small but mighty” was created for Enid! She had to have a feeding tube attached through her abdomen straight into her stomach and will have it for the next 8 weeks. Enid hasn’t let any of this slow her down at all and still loves getting to our local dog park to explore and play. She is the light of my life and always knows when I need cheering up. She snuggles into my neck or wiggles her entire body, radiating joy wherever she goes. She would be a fantastic Nose of Tralee as she is just pure joy and fun.
Waterford
Cosmo – Waterford

Cosmo is always up for an adventure and meeting new people. He is a keen explorer and loves to share his fun loving personality with the world.
Michael (Mikey) – Waterford

Michael Hoban My senior dog Michael (Mikey), a quirky 17-year-old golden oldie, is more than just a pet; he’s family. Despite his age, he still possesses a feisty spirit and a unique personality that even the vet calls him an enigma. He’s been my steadfast companion through thick and thin, offering unconditional love and unwavering loyalty. He deserves to be a nose, not just for his age, but for the joy he brings into my life every single day. His playful antics, gentle nudges, and the warmth of his presence are constant reminders of the beautiful bond we share, a bond that makes him truly exceptional.
Luna – Waterford

We think our Luna would be the perfect Nose of Tralee. She’s a 6 year old cavalier king charles spaniel who we rescued 8 months ago. Until then she’d been used to produce puppies and hadn’t known a normal dog life. She didn’t even have a name she recognised. We decided to call her Luna on the drive home from the rescue place as there was a huge harvest moon lighting our way. She joined our family which already included 3 other cavaliers and their job was to teach her how live in a home and be a normal dog. She quickly settled in and the most rewarding times have been when her real personality shines through. She’s become more cheeky and mischievous as the months passed and she makes us laugh every day. Her favourite thing to do is steal shoes, phones, glasses etc and we find them in some very strange places. She also enjoys climbing up onto the table just in case there’s some food left behind. We walk on our local beaches most days and to see her run like an excited child, with such a zest for life, is so special. She runs like a rabbit by the way! Luna now seems to realise she’s in her forever home and she feels safe and loves to snuggle with her doggy siblings and her humans. Luna would love to represent Co Waterford in Nose of Tralee as it’s where she’s found her happy place.
Westmeath
Max – Westmeath

Meet Max the Boss of the Street and the Heart of Our Home Our little legend just turned 8! Don’t let his size fool you this cute little pug runs the house and the streets with the confidence of a lion and the charm of a gentleman. He’s a true foodie at heart. Say the words chicken, beef, or lamb and he’ll go from deep snoring to wide awake in seconds! Grooming, however? Absolutely not. You’ll need to negotiate. He prefers a bit of rugged charm anyway he says it suits his image as a ladies’ man. Between naps (which take up about 90% of his day), he keeps us laughing with his antics and expressions. He has an opinion on everything, and he makes sure it’s heard with snorts, side-eyes, and struts that would put models to shame. He’s more than just a dog he’s family, comedian, cuddle buddy, and king of our home. We think he’s the perfect Nose of Tralee. After all, he always follows his nose especially when there’s a roast in the oven!
Apollo Collie X – Westmeath

He’s not just a pretty face’he’s full of sass, smarts, and the kind of funny antics that keep everyone laughing. Wicklow
Rebel – Wicklow

I spotted Rebel while I happened to be at an animal rescue, we just had an instant connection. I couldn’t get him out of my mind so had to go back to meet him properly and that was that. He had been found at 18months roaming stray and spent the following three years in A.S.H animal rescue. He now gets to live out the rest of his day’s with a family who adore him, comfy beds to sleep in and cuddles galore. I think Rebel deserves to be nose of tralee for being such a beautiful soul and because he has the best smile I have ever seen on a dog!
Derek Wheatley – Wicklow

This is Derek Wheatley. He is a wolfhound cross from Wicklow. He came from dogs trust and has been a member of our family for 1 year. Now we can’t imagine life without him. Derek is the bestest boy. And I always say he has the best nose in the business! His nose and tail are two of my favourite things in this world. Derek is big gentle fluffy playful giant. And honestly if you ask me, the world needs more Dereks in it. He goes to work every day as a boiler mans apprentice, meeting many friends along the way. He makes friends whereever he goes, giving a friendly lick to all. Derek is hard to forget once you meet him. With that nose, large fluffy paws, long swishy tail, and goofy personality, he is a known celebrity in our village. Two of Dereks favourite things are chasing tennis balls and getting back scratches – he says it’s the simple things that matter most!
Leo – Wicklow

Leo may be small in size but has a big personality full of love, sassiness and witt! Since we adopted him from the DSPCA just three months ago, his super sniffer has been working overtime tracking every crumb, every curious scent on the breeze, and most importantly, every neighbour’s dog before they even appear on the horizon. As a chihuahua-terrier rescue, Leo takes his role as Chief Scent Inspector very seriously. His nose is how he explores the world, keeps us safe (from other dogs he’s fearful of), and shows love one sniff at a time. For Leo, sniffing isn’t just a skill it’s his superpower. That little rescue nose deserves a big title! Leo has made our new house a home. He’s filled the walls with lots of love and laughter. Training him and watching him settle into his new home and how he has overcome a fear of the car and learning new commands has been something special. His cuddles morning, noon and night make the effort of having a dog worth every second! Although Leo started out a shy, nervous, anxious dog, he now perks up for a pose when the camera appears. He knows all his best angles and puts on ‘those eyes’ that would melt any heart! A dog who once faced the wall, didn’t know how to play to now loving his zoomies around the garden and cuddles on the couch, jumping up for a treat or sitting patiently for a toy to be thrown, Leo has it all and deserves nothing more than to gain the title of Pet Sitters Ireland Nose Of Tralee.
