Over 1800 pets entered the 2026 Nose of Tralee – and it wasn’t just cats and dogs who entered. We had entries from lizards, birds and even a goat.
The 32 Finalists (29 dogs, 2 cats and a goat) then battled it out on social media, in person, on radio and in their local community to get votes for their Noses.
And now based on over 50,000 public votes we get to crown the Nose of Tralee 2026 Winner and Runner Up.
Meet Alfie, the little bearded gentleman hoping to bring the Nose of Tralee crown home to Longford!
Born in February 2025, Alfie instantly turned our house into a home. He has a wonderful way with people, and everyone who meets him can’t help but fall in love with him. Whenever we’re out on our walks, people are always more than eager to stop and pet him, and we constantly find ourselves answering lots of questions from admirers of our dapper little man.
Don’t let his miniature size fool you – Alfie has a giant personality. From his signature “boofs” to alert us to the postman, to diving head-first into piles of leaves, and proudly bringing us his blanket when he’s ready for bed and his day is done, he keeps us laughing from morning to night. Add in his incredibly expressive eyebrows and his mastery of the famous schnauzer side-eye, and there’s never a dull moment.
He is our ultimate shadow – a true Velcro dog who refuses to let us out of his sight.
The true Nose of Tralee is not just a pet; it’s a best friend and cherished family member who brings pure joy, endless laughter, and unconditional love into their family’s lives. Alfie does exactly that every single day.
We believe Ireland is ready for a miniature champion with a giant heart.
Leaf, Laugh, Love!
Meet Your 2026 Nose of Tralee Runner Up – Reggie from Dublin

Meet Reggie.
A 6 year old Jack Russell x Pug. Affectionately, a Jug.
Reggie is the smallest boy with the biggest presence. And as with all small dogs, he takes his role as Head of Security VERY seriously. Reggie is the crack that lets light in, he brings so many people joy on his many adventures, and loves stopping to let people give him a little rub behind his ears. We love making the most of every moment, spreading smiles, slowing down and PAWS-ing to smell every single blade of grass.
We would love to be voted your 2026 Nose of Tralee.
Jugs and kisses, from The Regmeister 🐾
