Let’s face it – we get lots of rain in Ireland!
According to Met Eireann “The average number of wet days (days with more than 1mm of rain) ranges from about 150 days a year along the east and south-east coasts, to about 225 days a year in parts of the west.”
So when people ask us if we walk dogs in the rain then of course the answer is Yes!
So what does your Dog Walker do when walking your dog in the rain?
Shorter Walk time.
If the rain is extremely heavy then we can always shorten your dogs walk and then play games inside the house with your dog during the remainder of their visit.
Put a rain coat on your dog.
If your dog has a rain coat then your Dog Walker can make sure your dog wears it when going out for their walk. This can give them protection from getting extremely wet in the heavy rain.
Towel dry your dog.
If it’s raining then leave towels out for your Dog Walker and we can make sure your dog is nice and try for when they settle down after their walk. You don’t want to come home to a wet, smelly dog!
Indoor Exercise.
If you don’t want your dog to get too wet then we can take them out for a quick toilet break and exercise them indoor with a range of dog games. Games could include fetch, hide and seek or interactive dog games.
Of course we will follow your instructions when it comes to walking your dog when it rains. Some dogs love the rain and others don’t – so let us know which your dog is.
