Pet Sitters Ireland Nose of Tralee 2026 (Semi Finalists)

Antrim

Bonnie

Meet Bonnie, the 2 year old golden cocker spaniel from Belfast. AKA, professional treat connoisseur. AKA, mud obsessed diva, AKA, mums stalker. I believe Bonnie deserves to be the nose of Tralee because shes our national treasure with paws. She is everyones emotional support animal with no formal training. Loves to perform zoomies after the toilet and never pays rent, yet remains the most important member of the household.

Phoebe

Big bunches, tiny teefs, and piano-playing paws…..meet Phoebe, aka “Big Phil” the Shih Tzu! A whirlwind of infectious energy, Phoebe lives her life with resilient optimism, unwavering self-belief, and a strong moral compass; traits which we believe would make her the most wonderful Nose of Tralee 2026; an inspiration to both dogs and humans alike. Approaching new challenges with excitement and confidence, Phoebe reminds us every day to believe in ourselves – we CAN achieve what others think we can’t! Our mini Mozart may not have opposable thumbs, but this doesn’t prevent her from treating us often to impromptu piano recitals; slamming her little paws down on the ivories to deliver her own chord-based compositions, in exchange for a game (or two) of ‘Kong ball fetch’. This Shih Tzu wouldn’t be out of place in a field of retrievers! Breaking down breed stereotypes, Phoebe is known to spend her Thursday evenings sniffing out gun oil as a scentwork detective in dog class, loving every minute of it – roll over, bloodhounds! As the only Shih Tzu participating in a local Steeplechase Agility Fun Run, Phoebe refused to be intimidated by the speedy spaniels and collies before her, with their impressive finish times of around 25 seconds. Dedicating herself to every jump, tunnel and turn, Phoebe finished her run with a time of 87 seconds, then posed with pride beside the scoreboard, quietly confident in knowing that the ‘underdog’ had defied the odds by completing the course, regardless of the score! Unwavering in her resolve to stand up for what is right, Phoebe is always at hand to break up school-yard scuffles in dog class, even if this means squaring up to a Staffy in the name of justice – it’s easy to see why she is affectionately known as “Phil Mitchell”! Phoebe’s highly intuitive nature means she can easily sense when a dog, or a person, is feeling anxious or unsettled, and will gently lie down beside them, for as long as it takes to show in her own special way that everything will be ok. Last Summer, Phoebe was the perfect example of how to keep going when things get tough, when she was diagnosed suddenly with a malignant mast cell tumour on her side. She underwent two surgeries the following day; to remove the lump and to be spayed. Despite facing the post-surgery complication of a phantom pregnancy, this little warrior faced her recovery with such strength and determination, and just one week later, was showing off her strong sea legs on a family ferry trip across the Irish Sea, where she roamed the cobbled streets of the Cotswolds, and sunbathed on the stunning beaches of Cornwall, without a care in the world. Back on 4th February 2023, we visited a pet shop and bought a little squeaky narwhal puppy toy. At this stage, we didn’t know when this puppy would come into our lives; we just knew that we were hoping for a little tan and white Shih Tzu to complete our family, and we had already picked her name…Phoebe. Weeks later, we discovered that a litter of the sweetest Shih Tzu puppies were looking for their forever homes. We instantly fell for Phoebe, then learnt that she had been born on 4th February. Perhaps the most important thing that Phoebe has taught us, is in the belief that things are ‘meant to be’. What a joy it is to call her ours; to teach and to be taught by Phoebe.

Alfred

If you’ve ever met Alfred, you’ll know he’s impossible to forget. Equal parts gentleman and mischief-maker, he has a huge personality wrapped up in a very handsome lurcher package. He’s friendly, funny, endlessly curious, and always manages to brighten someone’s day. That’s what makes him special to us.

Armagh

Molly

Molly should be crowned the Nose of Tralee because she is the perfect combination of beauty, grace, and personality. She is a glamorous wee girl with impeccable manners and spends her days ruling the house from her sunny cat tree throne and only dining from the finest china. She lovingly keeps an eye on her two kitty sisters, provides top-tier company while I work from home, and charms everyone she meets with her pretty face and gentle nature. She has a loyal fanbase following her adventures on Instagram at @MollyThePrettyKitty. In short, she already has the poise and popularity of a true queen. All she needs is the crown!!

Scarlett

Scarlett is my velcro dog, she was rescued from a puppy farm, where she had a very difficult start in life and little chance to know the love and care every dog deserves. She didn’t know stairs and walked right into the glass door. She first came to us as a foster dog, and although we thought we were helping her on her journey to a forever home, it quickly became clear that she had already found it with us. Despite everything she had been through, Scarlett arrived with the nosiest nose, the sweetest eyes, and an always wagging tail. Scarlett loves nothing better than running after butterflies in the garden and playing with her sister Harlow. Scarlett may not be the brightest bulb in the box but she is our beautiful dummy. She may have started with us as a foster dog, but Scarlett became family. She could be 2026 Nose of Tralee but to us, Scarlett is already a winner.

Luna

Shes the most well loved dog in armagh city. Her pink ears are known far and wide. She loves pets and peoole making a fuss over her.

Pet Sitter

Carlow

Axel

I entered Axel into the Nose of Tralee because he brings happiness to everyone he meets. Axel is our one year old Golden Retriever and is full of energy, affection, and personality. Axel is a much-loved member of our family and has a gentle, friendly nature that perfectly represents everything people love about dogs. Axel likes to spend his days collecting compliments, making friends, and convincing everyone he meets to give him belly rubs. Axels golden good looks make him a worthy candidate for the Nose of Tralee. We think hes the perfect combination of charm, character, and canine charisma!

Max

This is Max, my three year old Pomsky. He has the kind of personality and appearance that instantly captures everyones attention wherever he goes. With his beautiful fox like face, fluffy coat and heterochromia eyes he has a look that perfectly reflects his unique character. Being a mix of a Husky and Pomeranian, Max has inherited the best qualities of both breeds the intelligence, energy and adventurous spirit of a Husky combined with the affectionate, playful, and charming nature of the Pomeranian. He is full of life, always eager to meet new people and somehow manages to make everyone smile with his cheeky personality, hes often super expressive too with lots of talking and funny reactions. Despite his small size compared to a full Husky, he carries himself with confidence and pride, almost like he knows hes special. He also has his own tiktok and instagram accounts @max_thepomsky_ which showcases his daily life from dog shows, playful moments, promoting products, adventures and much more, its also a way for us to connect with a wider community of people that show the same love and appreciation for animals and we love sharing our journey with our followers. Max is also a perfect example of the growing importance of dog-friendly communities and businesses. Across Ireland, more cafes, shops, parks, and local businesses are recognising how valuable it is to welcome dogs and their owners. Whether its visiting a local cafe/restaurant, a family-run bakery or any pet friendly business, we love supporting as many as we can to help encourage people to spend more time locally, socialize and enjoy more time with their pets included. I believe Max would be the perfect representative for Carlow in the Nose of Tralee because he has everything you could want in a canine ambassador – beauty, friendliness and he proves that even a small dog can carry a big county spirit

Her little reactions, snuggles and affection has captured not only me and my husband but our extended family. We look forward to seeing her after work as she pops her head up to look out the window when I come up the drive and she then speeds out to greet me at the door. In the short time weve had her, shes the center of our worlds and wed be lost without her. Waffle deserves to be Nose of Tralee, shes cute, funny and a caring little soul that everyone should know about. Crazy that I talk about her like shes a person but she has really had a huge positive impact on our lives.

Clare

Baaaarney

Introducing the one, the only, Baaaarney McKenna  born in Galway but now proudly a Clare goat, and owner of the finest baaanjo this side of the Burren. Baaaarney has spent years perfecting the important skills in life: escaping fences, eating things he absolutely shouldnt, and screaming for absolutely no reason at 5 in the morning. Last year his famous baaanjo proudly represented Clare, reducing several audience members to tears and confusing at least three judges. This year, Baaaarney himself is taking centre stage in the Nose of Tralee in search of glory, fame, and possibly somebodys unattended sandwich. A passionate advocate for free-range living, Baaaarney believes every goat deserves: Equal climbing opportunities  Fresh hay on demand And at least one traffic cone to stand on at all times Known locally as The Horned HeartbreakerBaaaarney has stolen hearts all across Munster mainly because he keeps breaking into gardens and eating the flowers. If selected as Clare Nose of Tralee, Baaaarney vows to represent his County with honour, pride, and absolutely zero respect for personal space. Vote Baaaarney McKenna: Because every great nation deserves a slightly unhinged goat leading it.

Cork

Leela

Leela from Ballincollig, Co. Cork Meet Leela, Ballincolligs resident outdoor enthusiast! Rescued 3 years ago, Leela still loves being outdoors, its in her genes. When the hottest day of the year hit, May 26th, Leela couldn’t wait to get outside and explore when I got home from work. However, her days great adventure lasted all of five minutes before the heat became a bit too much, and she noped out and melted into the shady bark; providing the purrfect cool spot. Like the rest of us Irish, Leela chases the sun and then cant hack it, which is why we think she’d make a terrific Nose of Tralee!

Charlie

Meet Charlie, a 14-year-old Golden Retriever with a heart as golden as his coat. Despite being in his senior years, Charlie still loves his adventures and can often be found exploring the shoreline, nose to the wind and taking in the world around him. He is gentle, loyal, and has spent 14 years bringing happiness to everyone lucky enough to know him. Charlie would make a wonderful Nose of Tralee because he embodies everything we love about dogs: kindness, companionship, resilience, and a sense of fun. This photo captures him perfectly calm, dignified, and enjoying one of his favourite places. Age has given him wisdom, but he’s never lost his curiosity or his love of life. With a nose that’s spent 14 years investigating every interesting scent and a personality that wins hearts wherever he goes, Charlie is a worthy contender for the title of Nose of Tralee.

Nellie

She is the cutest dog ever! Even if we do say so ourselves…

Donegal

Baby Bear

Baby Bear is a 10 year old Jug (Jack Russell X Pug) He has the biggest heart and will be everyone’s friend. In the last year he’s lost his eye and has been going to physio friends arthritis & hip dysplasia but that never stopped his tail from wagging or his tongue licking! He’s my best friend and the baby in our family of 3. Me and my husband would be lost without him. He enjoys car trips, forest walks and watching ducks! His favourite treats are blueberries and pup cups. He’s the best boy i know and I’ll always be greatful to be his mum x

Oonagh

Oonagh is a black and tan Jack Russell we adopted from a litter in Bruckless, Donegal during the Covid pandemic. She is so relentless at football, we call her “Ronaldog”. On walks she will often pick up and carry a stick more than one meter long and the same weight as her body. She has sniffed just about every beach in Donegal County and beyond. Her favorite pub is John Joe’s in Kilcar village and she is much loved at John McGuiness’ hardware store in Bruckless. She is an active participant in the Roxboro Beach Brigade beach cleanups, collecting all GAA footballs and rugby balls that ended up on the shore of Port Eachrann. At the end of the day she likes to curl up on something soft, preferably a Donegal tweed jumper left lying around.

Rose

During my darkest, most difficult times of my life, she was my best friend and my greatest support. She was always by my side , giving me comfort, love, and a reason to keep going. Her loving personality, endless affection, and ability to sense when I need comfort makes her truly special. She has the sweetest, most loving nature and always wants to be by my side, my little velcro dog. She loves meeting new people and making new friends, and one of her favourite things is to come to school with me to visit the children. She has changed my life for the better and deserves to be celebrated. She is also my little alarm clock every morning, making sure I start each day with a smile. No matter what kind of day I’m having, she is always there, ready for a cuddle, a walk, or simply to sit beside me. Through every challenge, she has shown me the true meaning of unconditional love. She has stood by my side during my darkest days and celebrated my happiest moments, loving me exactly the same through it all and asking for nothing in return but a cuddle. She is not just a pet she is a loyal friend, a source of comfort, and a little ray of sunshine wherever she goes, my angel.

Down

Lucy

Lucy would make a wonderful Nose of Tralee because shes not just full of personality shes full of heart. A collie cross lab and a proud rescue, Lucy has come a long way. She can be a little nervous around new people at first, but that just makes the bond she builds even more special. Once youre in her circle, youve got a loyal friend for life, shes protective, incredibly smart, and always looking out for her people. At home, Lucy takes her role as neighbourhood watch very seriously, happily keeping an eye on the world from her favourite window spot (usually with her bone close by!). Shes bursting with energy and joy whether shes racing around the garden, heading off on a new adventure, or living her absolute best life at the beach, which she loves more than anything. Lucy may be a little shy at first, but underneath that is a brave, loving, and spirited dog who truly deserves her moment to shine. Thats why shed make the perfect Nose of Tralee.

Ira volunteers as a pet therapy dog with Pets As Therapy, visiting children’s hospital wards, rehabilitation homes for older adults, and supported living services for teenagers with learning disabilities. During one visit, a young boy who would not usually engage positively reacted to Ira by reaching out to pet her. The support workers were amazed and delighted by his response, showing just how powerful the bond between people and animals can be. Ira is also an experienced traveller, having spent six months living in Vancouver, Canada, where she charmed everyone she met. She loves learning tricks, meeting new people, and spreading happiness wherever she goes. For her caring nature, community work, adventurous spirit, and wonderful temperament, Ira would be a worthy Nose of Tralee.

Fermanagh

Bowie

Bowie – Nose of Tralee Candidate At seven years old, Bowie is the heart of the Waters household in beautiful Fermanagh, where she lords over the rolling countryside and the shores of Lough Erne like she owns the whole lake. With her soulful eyes, that constant happy tongue, and a temperament that can only be described as pure love, Bowie has been the cornerstone of our family for years. She’s a devoted older sister to her younger siblings Ellie and Evie, guiding them with patience and grace. And this August, she’s about to step into her biggest role yet: big sister to our first son. We have no doubt she’ll take that responsibility as seriously as she takes every day of her joyful life. Bowie isn’t just our dog she’s our constant companion, our comfort, our reason to smile every single morning. She’s shown us what unconditional love truly means, and there’s simply no family on earth that loves as fiercely as this golden-hearted girl loves us. This is Bowie’s year.

Autumn

Autumn is my little 2 yr old rescue collie with a huge personality.she loves people and would make the perfect Nose of Tralee.

Meg

Stand aside everyone Meg the Collie has entered the competition. At almost 12 years old, Meg is still convinced shes the main character wherever she goes. Whether shes chasing footballs at full speed, striking model poses for attention, or returning home covered in mud with absolutely no regrets, she knows how to keep people smiling. Meg may be a senior girl, but she still has the energy, attitude, and dramatic personality of a puppy. Shes sweet, cheeky, photogenic, and fully believes every person she meets has arrived purely to admire her. Why should Meg win Nose Of Tralee? Because no one works a camera quite like her, no one demands attention more professionally, and no one steals hearts faster. Competition? Meg calls it a walk in the park.

Galway

Peigí

Peigí or to give her full title, Peigí Bán, came to live with her human a year ago via Dogs Trust. Now a true Galway girl, shes happiest on a windswept walk or a swim in the sea, but her retriever nature still shines through in her love of belly rubs, rolling in freshly cut grass, launching herself into muddy puddles, and constantly seeking treats. Peigí takes life one sniff at a time, has a smile that lights up a room, and has become such a regular at the local cafe that shes practically learned how to order her own treats. Peigí would make a great 2026 Nose of Tralee because she represents everything we love about dogs: resilient, loving, goofy, slightly chaotic, and fully convinced the world revolves around her.

Arlo

Arlo should be crowned the Nose of Tralee as he is the cutest poodle strutting his stuff in Galway. We get stopped all the time on walkies and he absolutely loves all the attention and we love meeting dog owners and their dogs. Arlo is a 3 year old toy poodle (a rather large one!) and most definitely carries all the traits of one. He is super affectionate, loves cuddles, kisses and is a little shadow to me and his dad. We would not have it any other way, hes been a silly goofy pup since he was a few months old. Ever since starting his instagram page weve been able to share all his funny and cute moments with our friends and spread the joy we get to experience daily. Hes now a pro a photos and loves to pose for the camera, which is great as he is a brand ambassador for a few different dog brands. We absolutely love creating content for them and sharing all the goodies they have. Arlo is the first dog Ive ever had and he has changed our life. We do not have children but hes as close to one in soo many ways! We now plan our life and adventures around him, its so fun to get to experience life with our little best friend! Aside from all the fun cute times weve always had some hard times with Arlo. Hes been in and out the vets as a poorly boy and not having a proper diagnosis or answers can be really scary times but thankfully with some adjustments to his diet and support hes been so much better. He still manages to get in a sneaky puppuccino or two This boy has a massive personality and heart to match, and we would love for him to win to keep the adventures going and enjoy the amazing prizes together.

Honey

My Goldendoodle deserves to win the Nose of Tralee because she has mastered the rare art of making every person she meets feel like the most important human in Ireland. She greets each day with boundless enthusiasm, whether its a walk in the rain, a game of fetch, or simply supervising the making of a cup of tea. Her tail never stops wagging, her heart is as big as Dublin Bay, and her fluffy face has the remarkable ability to make bad days disappear. As a Goldendoodle, she is blessed with movie-star looks, but its her personality that truly stands out. She is part comedian, part therapist, part professional sock thief, an excellent hole digger and full-time best friend. She spreads joy wherever she goes, makes strangers smile, and believes every visitor arrives solely to admire her – which, to be fair, is usually true.

Kerry

He gets on wonderfully with people and dogs of all ages and is always ready to brighten someones day with one of his kisses. Teddy loves his daily walks, as long as there are plenty of sniff stops along the way to investigate all the local happenings! When hes not out and about, youll usually find him enjoying a cosy nap or making sure his tummy stays nice and full. With his charming personality, impeccable manners, and exceptional nose for sniffing out adventure, Teddy has all the qualities needed to be crowned the next Nose of Tralee.

Millie

Millie is the light of our lives and is a small dog with a very big heart! At just four months old, circumstances meant an older lady had to make the difficult decision to rehome her. Thankfully Millies wonderful groomer Sinead assisted with this too. Now three years old, Millie has fully settled into life in Duagh! The Millie Experience begins with a wavy tail. Not a normal tail wag – a whole-body celebration. Her tail starts it, her back joins in, and eventually she resembles a furry little question mark vibrating with joy. She greets everyone with the same enthusiasm whether youre family, a neighbour, the postman, or someone who accidentally made eye contact from across the road. To Millie, there are no strangers. Only friends she hasnt enthusiastically welcomed yet. But of all her friendships, one became something extra special. Somewhere along the way, Millie quietly appointed herself best friend to my husbands mother. No official meeting. No committee approval. Millie simply decided. Now they are inseparable. Theres something lovely about the way dogs choose their people. Millie sits beside her, follows her around, checks in on her, and offers companionship with the kind of consistency humans rarely manage. No grand gestures – just little moments: being nearby, resting her head, sharing the bed, sitting on the armchair awaiting scraps from the table, making ordinary days feel warmer. They understand each other so well. Millie may only be small, but she has managed to become the heart of the house. Who would have guessed that a tiny four-month-old puppy, starting over in a new home, would grow into everyones welcoming committee, emotional support team, and furry best friend?! She didnt just find a home. She made one. P.S. Millie is seen here in her lovely jumper handknit by my mother-in-law.

Kildare

Albus

Meet Albus  Albus is an 8-month-old St. Bernard cross with Bernese Mountain Dog, and despite still being a puppy, he often acts like a wise old soul. He’s incredibly clever, kind-hearted, and surprisingly self-aware. Even though he’s already much bigger than most dogs (already at 42kg), he seems to know his own size and always adjusts his play style to be gentle with smaller dogs and children. Food is his greatest love in life (with ice cubes coming a very close second). In fact, he’s already taught himself how to use the fridge’s ice dispenser. He’s also a magician, his food can disappear in seconds! One of his favourite tricks is giving a high five with his giant paw when asked. His two front paws have large white markings that look just like socks, so naturally we call them his “Nikes.” The sweetest thing about Albus is how he greets other dogs. When he sees one approaching, he’ll often lie down to show that he’s friendly and not a threat , just a gentle giant looking for a new friend. He’s big, fluffy, clever, food obsessed, and endlessly lovable. We couldn’t imagine life without him.

Kai

Kai would make an amazing Nose of Tralee because he has the perfect mix of charm, intelligence, and love. He loves doing tricks, which shows how smart and eager to please he is, and his playful side shines through with his love for toys and games. Most importantly, Kai adores cuddles and being around people, making him a comforting and joyful companion who can brighten anyones day. With his handsome looks, friendly personality, and ability to make everyone smile, Kai truly has all the qualities needed to be a fantastic and unforgettable Nose of Tralee.

Charlie

Charlie would make the perfect nose of Tralee because he is the cutest, friendliest dog in Ireland. Charlie is a four year old cavapoo from County Kildare. He makes friends with everyone he meets, and everybody says he looks like a teddy bear. Charlie loves going on walks to meet all of his doggy friends, and bark at a few birds on the way! Leitrim

Holly is a very freindly and playful dog. She loves to make new friends and always enjoys her evening walks.

Cappy

Ladies and gentlemen, judges and fellow nose enthusiasts, I present to you the one and only Cappy the Collie Doodle owner of what may well be the most remarkable nose in the known world. Cappy arrived during the Covid lockdown, one of just three puppies born to our grandparents dogs. Our grandad decided to keep her as his companion while everyone else was busy with work and school. He decided to call her Cappy because he came to Leitrim from Cappataggle County Galway. It was a perfect match. She quickly became his shadow, best friend, and unofficial supervisor of all household activities. Sadly, when Cappy was three years old, our beloved grandad passed away. Like the rest of the family, she was heartbroken. But ever since, she has continued the important job he entrusted to her keeping a watchful eye and more importantly, a watchful nose on all of us. Now, let discuss the star of the show: The Nose. Cappys nose is not merely a nose. It is a highly sophisticated detection system. It can identify the rustle of a sausage packet from three rooms away. It can locate chicken hidden in lunchboxes, butter left unattended on countertops, and dropped crumbs that even forensic scientists would struggle to find. Her nose is also incredibly nosy. If there is a conversation happening, she needs to know about it. If someone arrives at the door, she conducts a thorough investigation. If a cupboard opens, she appears instantly, as if teleported by the scent itself. But Cappys nose is not all about food. It has a special gift for reading people. Somehow, she instinctively knows who is kind and who might need a little extra scrutiny. Visitors are carefully sniffed, assessed, and either welcomed with enthusiastic tail wags or placed under temporary observation. Speaking of tail wags, we suspect there is a direct connection between Cappys nose and her tail. Whenever the nose discovers a friend, a treat, or any exciting piece of gossip, the tail begins wagging at such speed that local weather patterns may be affected. As a guard dog, she keeps our family safe. As a friend, she keeps us smiling. As a food detective, she keeps us on our toes. And as the proud owner of a beautiful, elegant, long and lovely nose, she represents everything this competition stands for. So when you cast your vote, remember some dogs have good noses, some dogs have lovely noses, but only Cappy has a nose that combines beauty, bravery, kindness, curiosity, food-finding expertise, and advanced neighbourhood intelligence gathering. Vote for Cappy, your Leitrim competitior for the Nose of Tralee title 2026!

Coco is a beautiful 14 year old jack Russell who I have had the pleasure of watching her grow since she was 6 weeks old she has her own little personality jealoussy definitely been one when her daddy gives mammy cuddles or visa versa, she loves cuddles under the duvet when daddy gets out of bed or on the couch watching movies, she comes over and nudges your hand for attention or for a treat she sleeps in our bed so walks to the edge if needs to go out, she knows tricks such as kiss, paw, high5, bump (fistbump) and sit all for treats or she won’t do them. She has been on trains, bus and car journeys with me. She has had a few little surgery’s such as pyrometra and has had cancer a few times and had lumps removed. But still is a feisty playful puppy at heart when she fights and growls at pillow fights. And the newest one is domino hook hoo where u catch her leg n she growls. Coco definitely is a one of a kind young pup in a middle aged body

Luca

Luca would make a great Nose of Tralee because he is the sweetest, friendliest little dog and genuinely loves everyone he meets. Hell be 2 in June and already has the biggest personality. He loves cuddles, getting his hair brushed, holding hands, and getting attention from absolutely anyone willing to give it to him. The neighbour kids regularly knock on the door asking if Luca can come out to play because hes basically everyones best friend. He has recently discovered a love of water and is obsessed with swimming while taking a drink from the local river. Between his luscious curly ears, paws bigger than the rest of him, and permanently happy face, he charms people everywhere he goes. He also has his own TikTok where people follow all of his adventures and daily life, which Luca fully believes is because hes famous

Murphy

Murphy is 9 months old and from Tipperary originally, like his mam. He is the most lovable and energetic boy from the moment he wakes up. He is our little shadow he follows us around the house and has to be involved in everything thats going on. He is very clever and so goofy at the same time, he makes us laugh and shows us love all day long. He will always greet you with a teddy in his mouth and a wagging tail with such excitement. He is very friendly and sociable and adores everyone. He loves very hard! He is still learning as he is only a puppy but we are so proud of how him and how easy he was to train. He loves to steal socks, tea towels and tissues – and then shred them all up! He just wants to love and be loved, and makes us so happy with his funny personality. He is a sweetheart and a menace all rolled into one. He loves to cuddle with his mom and play wrestle with his dad. We only have him a short time but we cant remember our lives before him.

Einstein

From the very beginning, Einstein was never your typical border collie. He was never meant for the farm life, and he quickly found his true calling as the cherished, pampered pooch in our home. Our family used to be a whirlwind of fascinating conversations, but now, they revolve around Wheres the dog?, Look at the dog!, and the ever-important Did he poo today? How did it look? Honestly, we wouldnt trade these moments for anything. Einstein has been our rock through the toughest times. In June 2025, we lost the husband and father of our household. During my daddys illness, Einstein was a constant companion nuzzling, cuddling, and even alerting us to trouble spots by sniffing areas that doctors later confirmed were affected. Thrown into the deep end as an overnight emotional support animal, Einstein has risen to the challenge with unwavering devotion. Its impossible to wallow in grief when someones dropping tennis balls in your lap and patiently waiting for you to go for a walk. Ive never met anyone, man or beast, with the depth of empathy and love this little dog carries. Hes transformed our lives in ways words cant capture. He absolutely deserves all the treats in the world and a title to match!

Alfie

I have the honour of introducing a very special contestant for the potential title of The Nose of Tralee. Now, while he may not have mastered Irish dancing or recited poetry on command, what he does have is something even more impressive a heart of gold, a nose for adventure, and enough charm to win over everyone he meets. My dog would make an outstanding Nose of Tralee because he is the perfect combination of cheeky and lovable. He has a mischievous streak that keeps life interesting. Whether hes sneaking into places hes not supposed to be, giving that innocent look after being caught red-pawed, or convincing everyone that he definitely hasnt been fed yet, he always keeps us laughing. But behind that cheeky personality is a wonderfully kind and caring soul. He has a way of knowing when someone needs company, a cuddle, or simply a wagging tail to brighten their day. His loyalty is unmatched, and he never misses an opportunity to be by the side of the people he loves. Hes also incredibly bubbly. Every walk is the greatest adventure ever taken. Every visitor is greeted like a long-lost friend returning home after years abroad. His enthusiasm for life is contagious, and his joy reminds us to appreciate the little things. His sense of humour deserves special recognition too. From zoomies around the house to his dramatic reactions when dinner is five minutes late, he provides daily entertainment and keeps everyone smiling. Most importantly, he embodies true best-friend energy. He there through good days and bad, celebrations and challenges, always ready with unconditional love, endless affection, and a wagging tail. So while there may be many talented contestants competing for the title, I believe my dog represents everything The Nose of Tralee should stand for: kindness, charm, humour, loyalty, and a spirit that brings happiness wherever he goes. Ladies and gentlemen, please give a huge round of applause for the future Nose of Tralee my best friend, my sidekick, and undoubtedly the goodest boy in the competition! Thank you.

Teddy

Teddy would make a great Nose of Tralee because he’s got the perfect mix of charm, personality, and heart. He greets everyone like a long-lost friend, always brings smiles wherever he goes, and carries himself with confidence (even if he occasionally gets up to mischief!). Whether he’s strutting his stuff on a walk, showing off his waggy tail, or giving the best cuddles, Teddy is a wonderful ambassador for all dogs. Most importantly, he spreads happiness, and that’s what being the Nose of Tralee is all about!

Beau

Beau is the smartest lovable little dog he would live all the attention

Sadie

Sadie is now 17 years old and she coming into her twilight years. However, she still gets the zoomies, asks for pets and causes all sorts of chaos. She is the most resilient cat I have ever met and we love having her in our family.

Mayo

Maisie

Maisie is my best friend and personal hero:) She was rescued as a puppy but in truth she rescued me far more. In her eleven years she has supported me through loss, mental health difficulties, and shares her home so nicely with foster dogs, boarding dogs, cats and hens. She is the cleverest, kindest and most beautiful soul and I just want to celebrate her:)

Mollie

Molly is a rescue who burst into my life six months ago. Shes passionate about chasing bubbles, windswept leaves, and dandelion clocks. Lately shes devised a technique worthy of a university distinction: she selects a sturdy stick in the woods, then charges at full speed to slay those dastardly dandelions. Shes so proud of herself afterwards. When shes zen, she climbs up behind you on the sofa, wraps her two front paws around your shoulders, and rests her whole head on yours. And as for being a watchdog she once barked and growled at my reflection in a window while I sat behind her. Molly is only seventeen months old, full of energy, and delighted with life. Shes my distraction from everyday woes, especially watching her antics on our walks. Im so glad she chose me.

Mindy

Mindy is now 15. She has hyperthyroidism, deafness and feline dementia. She’s been there for me since 2015. She’s not just a family pet but she’s my furEVER friend and therapy cat. I have eupd and chronic pain disorders and Mindy is there to comfort me a little extra on my bad days. I want her to win and be known as the cat who made a difference in someone’s life!

Nala

Nala is such a beautiful and friendly dog. Nala has represented petmania Navan in puppy of the year. Not a day goes by that she doesnt make us laugh or smile.

Willow

Willow was a scaredy rescue kitty but has become such a brave, clever, confident and beautiful maine coon. She enjoys being brought for walks on the lead and absolutely loves wearing little cat tshirts. She catwalks around the house so proud of herself.

Nuala

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the pet you’ve all been waiting for… Nuala! Our lovely lady is 9 months old, full of mischief and in our opinion the cutest in all the land. She’s a Lab X Collie so learns commands faster than most humans… Especially if there’s ham or cheese to encourage her. The only thing that would top the makings of a ham and cheese sambo would be ball. Ball is life! She’s smart, talented and we couldn’t imagine our life without her. We think everyone would benefit from a bit of Nuala to brighten their day.

Lucy Lou

Lucy is the silliest dog, full of goofiness, joy and energy. She is a mix between a Vizla and Golden retriever. She is the absolute joy of our family and brings a smile to anyone who meets her. Lucy has changed my life in particular. As a child and the whole way through my teenage years, I had a huge fear of dogs. I always loved them but I couldnt get past my fear when I was around them. I spent most of my life avoiding situations where I would be around dogs such as forest and beach walks. However all that changed in 2023. After coming home from a summer in America, my family brought Lucy into our home. She was a little energetic puppy and it wasnt easy at first for me to get used to. Going from not being able to walk by a dog on the street to living with Lucy was a huge change. However Lucy was so gentle, kind, friendly and has now not only became my best friend but my whole familys best friend too. From our daily walks, our outdoor adventures, hikes, trips to get pup cups and Lucy favourite, jumping on our family trampoline in the garden, Lucy had became the heart of our family and because of this we believe Lucy would make a great Nose of Tralee.

Bailey

If theres a prize for the biggest cuddle bug with the fluffiest charm, then our 2-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog deserves the crown for Nose of Tralee! Hes a gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws. Whether hes carrying around his favourite toys, stealing his dads slipper for attention, or demanding cuddles from everyone in sight, he always keeps us laughing. He absolutely loves adventures, especially long beach walks where he can run free and enjoy the sea air. At home, one of his favourite things is visiting the horses in the back field and trying to play with them like theyâre his best friends. But his favourite thing in the world is making his pawrents smile. He somehow always knows when someone needs cheering up and is first in line with cuddles, kisses, and his giant fluffy head. With his lovable personality, goofy habits, and endless affection, we think hes the perfect mix of handsome, hilarious, and heartwarming, he is a true Nose of Tralee winner!

Luna

With a rose in their mouth and love in their eyes, this little sweetheart is already living the Nose of Tralee dream! Friendly, playful and always spreading happiness, they would win hearts wherever they go.

Maisie

Maisie would be the best Nose of Tralee because she brings fun, friendship, and a little bit of mischief wherever she goes. Whether she’s chasing her favourite orange ball, making new friends on her walks, or investigating every interesting scent she comes across, Maisie lives life with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. Her nose is always hard at work, leading her on adventures and helping her discover the world one sniff at a time. With her cheerful spirit, expressive face, and endless love for people, Maisie is a wonderful ambassador for everything the Nose of Tralee celebrates. Most of all, Maisie reminds us to enjoy the simple things in life: fresh air, good company, and the excitement of a new adventure.

Lyla

Lyla is our beautiful, long-legged lady and a true gift to our family. We adopted this gorgeous Lurcher X as a 10 week old puppy from the ISPCA Longford in July 2025. After losing our beloved dog Bella the year before, our other dog Buster desperately needed a companion. He certainly got more than he bargained for! Lyla brought a whirlwind of pure joy back into our lives. She is a total ball of energy, famous for her epic garden zoomies and Olympic level couch acrobatics. Yet, for all her high-flying energy, she is just a giant lapdog stuck in a long body. There is absolutely no limit to her kisses, cuddles, and determination to squeeze onto your lap for a snooze. With her striking blue-green eyes, Lyla captures hearts wherever she goes. She absolutely loves meeting new people and dogs  perhaps a bit too enthusiastically! Her unique black eyebrow patches give her the most adorable, pensive expressions, making her a total chameleon in front of the camera. She is our resident treat thief, personal space invader, and dedicated bird patrol captain, and we wouldnt change a single thing about her. Lyla brought light back to our home when we needed it most. Shine on you crazy diamond, you’re already our winner!

Roscommon

Dotti

Introducing Dotti, a Great Dane with a giant heart, an even bigger personality, and a nose worthy of the Nose of Tralee crown. Dotti’s impressive snoot is constantly hard at work, whether she’s locating hidden treats, conducting thorough garden/field inspections, or determining exactly who’s opening the treat bag from the other side of the house. Her dedication to the art of sniffing is second to none. When she’s not busy with important nose-related duties, Dotti can be found tearing around the house, garden and field in spectacular Great Dane zoomie mode, leaning her full body weight against her favourite humans as a sign of affection, and casually launching her long legs in every direction imaginable. Like any true diva, she isn’t afraid to throw the occasional tantrum when things don’t go her way usually to the amusement of everyone around her. Gentle, loving, hilarious, and impossible to ignore, Dotti brings joy wherever she goes. With her outstanding nose, larger-than-life character, and undeniable charm, she believes she has all the qualities required to become the next Nose of Tralee. Vote Dotti because greatness starts with a Great Dane nose!

Frank

Vote Frank for the Nose of Tralee 2026 Frank is a five-month-old dachshund with big dreams, bigger side-eye, and the belief that every visitor should immediately pay the mandatory kiss tax. A dog of the people, Frank spends his days charming strangers, loving Guinness, demanding attention from his dad, and successfully taking over his mom and dads bed one nap at a time. While currently pursuing higher education in doggie training, he already knows sit, paw, and stay proving beauty and brains can, in fact, coexist. Franks special talent is looking completely innocent moments after causing absolute chaos, a skill he has perfected to an Olympic standard. Whether hes serving dramatic diva energy or melting hearts with his tiny legs and soulful eyes, Frank represents everything the Nose of Tralee stands for: charisma, community spirit, and unwavering confidence despite being only seven inches off the ground. If elected, Frank promises longer naps, more public cuddles, and fairer distribution of treats for all. #FrankForNoseOfTralee #KissTax #DivaWithADream

Rua

Rua believes he was born for this role. We believe he accidentally wandered into it and simply decided he was famous. Now older, wiser and considerably more dramatic than during the 2024 competition, Rua has spent the last two years perfecting the important skills required of a true Nose of Tralee finalist: posing majestically on beaches, supervising road trips from the car window, emotionally manipulating humans for snacks and pets and maintaining excellent public relations with absolutely everyone he meets. Rua is a proud rescue mutt with 57 different breeds in him. Hes come a long way from being a Romanian orphan in horrific circumstances to a proud Roscommon gentleman with enormous ears, endless charm and the confidence of a dog who genuinely believes every event has been organised in his honour. Hes equally comfortable:  wearing a glittering bow tie like a canine James Bond,  modelling pumpkin couture at Halloween, dancing with strangers at festivals,  or standing heroically on the coastline contemplating lifes great mysteries (such as those pesky cats). Rua is also deeply committed to community engagement. By this, we mean he insists on greeting every human, dog and suspicious-looking cow he encounters. Since 2024, Rua has matured considerably: He now understands that not every passing car is a personal insult. He accepts that baths are unavoidable, especially when he finds a nice big cow pat to roll in. He has learned that “leave it applies to all things dropped on the floor, not just food. He still ignores all of these lessons when it suits him. Despite his celebrity lifestyle, Rua remains humble. He continues to provide emotional support to his humans daily, keeps excellent watch over the house sofa and bravely protects Roscommon from rogue delivery drivers, cats, foxes, hares, anything he can think of that day… Rua represents everything the Nose of Tralee celebrates: joy, personality, kindness, resilience and the ability to make people smile instantly. Hes proof that you dont need to be perfect to be unforgettable. You just need a big heart, expressive eyebrows and the confidence to wear formalwear better than most men. Vote Rua for Nose of Tralee because Ireland deserves a representative with heart, humour and outstanding ears.

Cookie

Cookie is a tiny little dog with a very big love for chicken treats. The second she sees one, she starts jumping around excitedly and it makes everyone laugh every single time. We still have no idea where she learned it from. Her favourite toy is a little blue pig that she carries around everywhere, and somehow she also manages to gather up a piles of shoes from around the house just so she can sleep on them like her own little bed. She loves running through the grass, carrying her toys around proudly, and being involved in absolutely everything thats happening in the house. Shes such a sweet, funny little dog and brings so much happiness to everyone around her, which is why we think she would make a lovely Nose of Tralee winner.

Cassie

Sassy Cassie is the greatest addition to our family! She is the most adorable sock thief – she has had to have her stomach pumped twice for swallowing socks whole! She has a sweet loving nature and loves nothing more than cuddles and walks! Dont let her cuteness fool you she hates the word No and will be very vocal about letting you know she doesnt like it! She is very social and loves to say hello to everyone!

Sheamus

Were entering to make memories, have fun together, and celebrate the bond between dogs and their humans. Plus, he looks incredible in a bow tie.

Minnie

Hi, I’m Minnie.  People think my job is to look pretty for photographs, chase leaves, beg for belly scratches and convince everyone I deserve another treat. But I think my real job is much more important and thats looking after my family, let me explain why. My dad had a stroke a while back, and every morning I make sure he has a reason to get up. I patiently wait for him, follow him everywhere and remind him that there’s always another walk to go on and another adventure to have. When his days are difficult, I make them a little bit lighter with my funny antics and sassy attitude. My mum tells me I arrived when our home needed me most. Before I was born, cancer took my Mum’s beautiful girl Snowy. Mum tells me that love doesn’t get replaced, it grows. She says some hearts are big enough to hold more than one once in a lifetime dog, and I like to think she’s right. Snowy will always have her special place in mums heart but somehow Mum found room for a cheeky little girl like me too. Then, not long after I came home, cancer came back into our lives and took my grandad too. There was a lot of sadness in our house, and sometimes it felt very quiet. I don’t really understand grief, but I know when someone needs a cuddle, a walk, a waggy tail or a silly little face to make them smile. So cue me and I do what I do best. I zoom around the garden. I collect sticks that are far too big. I chase leaves before they chase me. I make everyone laugh with my sass and my side-eye. I insist on family walks and sofa snuggle and I remind Mum and Dad that even after the hardest days, there can still be happiness. I might only be a little dog, but I’ve helped fill a home, that once felt very empty, with love l, laughter and happiness again. I am the nose of Tralee not because I’m the cutest dog in Ireland, but because every day I help my family keep going.

Enid

Main character energy always… Presenting the love of my life; Enid, “Zero Fudges Enid” to her friends . A 4 year old chihuahua, Enid is both Diva and Angel all wrapped up in a cuddly 2kg package. Miranda Priestly step aside because this little supawmodel is the queen of the runway! This girl has sass in abundance and loves to show off her fabulous outfits (of which she has many) especially if there’s a camera nearby. She is equally happy playing at the dog park, running through the forest or at home with mama and snuggies on the sofa are her favourite. I joke that Enid lives on my shoulder but it’s not really a joke. She just loves to be snuggled into me as much as possible and there is a literal warmth and joy that emanates from her. It’s genuinely impossible to be sad around Enid. She either snuggles into my neck for comfort or she does her winding wiggle butt dance, always with a toy in her mouth, and makes me laugh uncontrollably. She loves to present her toys to you but only the truly privileged get to see her fav, Mr Piggy Wiggy· Enid has an indomitable spirit, something that was never so clear as when she almost died last year, and spent nearly 6 months with a surgical feeding tube through her side. She amazed her vets and specialists who all said it was astonishing she survived. She looked into the eye of the Storm and said “baby, I AM the storm”. I love that Enid is such a fabulous ambassador for her breed, dispelling the stereotype of a snappy, yappy little dog. She loves everyone, human or canine (and other animals too). To me she is beyond perfect, she is my little heart dog. And I think she would be amazing as the Nose of Tralee. She epitomises everything I imagine the Nose of Tralee stands for; friendship, loyalty, fun, inclusiveness and love. To coin a well known phrase… If Carlsberg made dogs they’d be Enid..

Albie

Albie would make a fantastic Nose of Tralee because he shows that resilience comes in all shapes and sizes and sometimes on just three legs. As a rescue Cocker Spaniel, Albie has overcome more than most dogs ever should. But youd never know it. He doesnt see himself as different. He still explores woodland trails, chases after adventures, makes friends wherever he goes and lives life with endless enthusiasm. His missing leg isnt something that holds him back, infact its his superpower. It reminds us every day to focus on what we can do rather than what we cant. Most importantly, Albie has shown us that second chances can change lives. He may only have three legs, but he has more heart than we ever thought possible. For us, thats what makes him a true Nose of Tralee.

A refined rabbit of impeccable taste, she enjoys the finer things in life and is no stranger to a bit of fine dining. While other rabbits are happy with a carrot in the garden, Chomp has been known to grace establishments such as Azzurro and The Vee Cafe, where she conducts herself with all the dignity you’d expect from a lady of her standing. She’s a proud Waterford girl through and through. She appreciates a good Blaa, enjoys stretching out after a hard day’s supervising, and firmly believes every household should revolve around the bunny, as nature intended. Despite her celebrity status, Chomp hasn’t forgotten her roots. She’s always available for meet-and-greets, particularly if snacks are involved, and she has dedicated countless hours to training her humans to provide room service on demand. Her talents include: Performing gravity-defying binkies around the sitting room. Inspecting every Amazon delivery with the seriousness of a customs officer. Leaving the occasional “lucky raisin” on the bed to remind everyone who’s really paying the mortgage. Maintaining a flawless litter tray record… mostly. Looking outrageously cute while committing minor acts of domestic terrorism. Friends describe her as “an absolute character,” while neighbours have been overheard saying, “There goes Chomp now, not a bother on her.” In these uncertain times, perhaps what Ireland really needs is not another politician or influencer, but a small fluffy woman from Waterford who enjoys the odd lunch out and believes every problem can be solved with hay and a nap. If you’re looking for class, craic, and a lady who’d happily have a three-course meal in Azzurro before heading up to The Vee for a scenic nibble, there’s only one bunny for the job

Freddie

Freddie is a rescue who came into my life a year & a half ago. My Irish setter Ringo (Wexford Nose 2017) had passed away 9 months earlier and the house was so quiet without him. Freddie popped up on my feed,on my birthday, posted by the lovely lady who had rescued Ringo, and I knew he was meant to be with me! Two weeks later I was told he was mine and I went to Tullamore to collect him. He settled in straight away, snuggled on the couch with me and sleeping with his head on my pillow at night. Hes a clever boy. He knows all of his toys by name and will go and get the one I ask for. He loves to play ball, although he seems to think if I wanted it I shouldnt have thrown it away, so he doesnt bring it back. But I get lots of exercise going to retrieve it so I can throw it again. He has a very selective palette, loves Brie and Stilton on crackers with strawberry & Prosecco conserve, asparagus and of course the last bite of anything Im eating! But his favourite treat is a drop of Baileys with milk!! Freddie is a bit of a celebrity in the local pub. Any time my partner Enda and I go out Freddie is standing at the door waiting for his lead to go on so he can come with us. All the customers have to come over for a cuddle and if theyre really lucky they get a few kisses too! Every Thursday Freddie heads off to school at The Dog Squad, where he spends his day running around playing with all the other dogs. He comes back tired but very happy. Freddie is very beautiful, very loving and just loves spending time with people. Hes brought the special love that Enda and I had with Ringo, back into the house and made it a home again.

Wicklow

Aflie

A big hi from Alfie – part Staffie, part land seal, full softie! Originally from Limerick, Alfie found his way to Wicklow via the wonderful people in Clare Animal Welfare. Luckily for us, we passed the 3-3-3 rules for him to decide we were the right hoomans for him and hes been a natural fit since February. At 2 years old, Alfie is head of garden security making sure were safe from all winged creatures. He has an amazing future with The Department of Doggie Revenue to ensure full compliance of the cheese tax. Alfie is an absolute powerhouse of energy who will welcome you through the door after putting the bins out like you have just returned from an Arctic exploration. He thoroughly believes he can be whatever he wants to be – a 20kg lapdog is the current choice! Despite showing quite a bit of intelligence he still manages to be surprised by his own tail on the daily. He may have a bit of an wonky donkey smile having been born with a cleft lip but he was voted the most handsome boy in a completely unbiased survey of our house. The most perfect Nose of Tralee I did ever see!

Bowie

Bowie would make a wonderful Nose of Tralee because she brings joy and laughter to everyone she meets. Known for her signature greeting of standing on her back paws and waving her front paws in the air, she has a way of making people smile instantly. Although shes not technically a farm dog, living on a farm hasnt stopped her from attempting to round up the sheep, proving shes full of confidence and character! Bowie has a huge heart, sharing her love between her sister Bella the cat and her favourite toy giraffe, Gerry. She loves a little luxury too and enjoys nothing more than a boujee hotel stay with her pawrents. Most importantly, Bowie is the life and soul of our home shes funny, loving, friendly, and full of personality. She truly is the best girly whirly in the world, and thats why we think she deserves to be the Nose of Tralee!

Buddy

Buddy would make a great Nose of Tralee because he is funny, adorable and skillful. He is a two hit wonder and howls beautifully along to ‘Murder She Wrote’ theme tune and ‘Where oh Where oh Where is Shadow’. He enjoys playing hide and seek, fetching a stone and sunbathing. He loves trips in the car with his head out the window, blowing his ears back on who ever’s lap he is sitting on. He is very helpful in the house and loves accompanying us while hanging out the laundry and hoovering up crumbs on the floor with his mouth. He also likes to watch the grocery shopping being packed away, awaiting to see what treats are in the bag. He is loyal and empathetic and knows when someone needs a cuddle before they do! He loved sitting alongside his sick Nanny minding her  Buddy is shy to new people and doggos but once you get to know him, he will bring you a toy every time you arrive at the door  Buddy deserves this title and prize because as well as his personal greatness, he has had a wuff year  P.S he has really cute eyes under his shades
