Pet Sitters Ireland Nose of Tralee 2023 (Semi Finalists)

Antrim

Freddie

Meet Freddie the Floof! He is hands down the best dog in Ireland (or at least County Antrim!), and he deserves to win not only the Nose of Tralee but also the Teeth of Tralee. Let me tell you why! Freddie is an absolute gem when it comes to being friendly and loving people. Seriously, you won’t find a more social and charming dog anywhere. He’s got this incredible ability to make everyone feel special with his adorable puppy eyes and cheesy grin. He’s like a walking ray of sunshine! But here’s the real reason Freddie is so special: Freddie is an absolute superhero for my dad, who’s battling dementia. Whenever Dad needs someone to watch over him and keep him safe, guess who’s there? Freddie! He is always lying at my dad’s feet, acting like the world’s most loyal bodyguard. He’s got the whole protection thing down to an art! When Freddie isn’t busy being a guardian angel, he’s all about playtime. His favorite game is chasing after his ball. Now, I’ll be honest, he’s not the greatest at bringing it back, but he puts his heart and soul into every chase. It’s impossible not to be caught by his playful spirit and laugh along with his hilarious antics. Oh, and let’s not forget about Freddie’s million-dollar smile. This dog’s got teeth that deserve their own award! Whenever he’s happy (which is basically all the time), he grins from ear to ear, showing off his pearly whites like he’s in a toothpaste ad. So, my fellow dog-loving judges, I urge you to consider Freddie the Floof as the top contender for the Nose of Tralee (and Teeth of Tralee if you fancy adding a bonus category). He’s got it all friendliness, loyalty, playfulness, and a smile that could brighten the darkest room. Freddie is my first dog and his presence in my life has brought immeasurable joy and comfort, and he deserves all the recognition he can get!

Lenny

He has such a gentle personality but is a bundle of fun as well. He loves being out and about on his walks, meeting new dogs and their owners, and is getting braver down at the beach (he doesn’t like to get his paws wet haha!). He LOVES to pose for his photo, as you can see! He’s my best mate and I would be lost without him.

Moss

Moss would make an amazing Nose of Tralee because naturally he’s the most handsome boy I’ve seen. He is the most loving dog on the planet with many people stopping us everyday on our walks to tell us how lovely he is. Moss will always have a paw ready for you to hold, or a ball ready to share with you. Is favourite thing is chasing his friends and proving he is the fastest boy in the land but he will always drop the ball for his four legged and two legged pals. Moss had a hard start in life, he was a special appeal from Bright Eyes animal sanctuary, he had a lot of behavioural issues due to being abandoned, but all he needed to thrive was a loving home and we cannot believe the dog he has become. We are so proud of Moss and want to share his story with anyone who will listen!

Armagh

Juneau

Juneau has the cutest nose and can sniff out treats a mile away  I think he would make a great Nose of Tralee! He was born in Kilkenny and his dad lives in Kildare

Teddy

Teddy would make a great candidate because, in my eyes, he is definitely “the best boy”. We welcomed Teddy into our home in December. He came at the perfect time and has helped me so much with a healing journey. Teddy is always at the door with his big smile to welcome us home… its the best part of the day! He is the most loving, affectionate, happiest wee dog. Teddy loves his walks in the forests and beaches, loves car rides, meeting people and sleeping! Teddy is a bulldog x shih tzu and is 2 years old.

Jethro

Jethro has the absolute best nose for boops! He is a Great Dane, almost two years old and is deaf. He relys on that nose, his sister Elphaba and his human family a lot! Jethro is the most adorable soul. Full of love for everyone and everything. He is sweet, gentle and will lick you to death! He doesn’t let his disability hold him back. At home he is the head gardener, head chef, head mechanic, head housekeeper… The list goes on! He just loves to be involved in everything that’s going on – lending a ‘helping hand’! Jethro is the biggest softie. A total lapdog…he loves nothing more than reversing himself onto your knee to get nursed! He deserves to win the Nose of Tralee because, well, how could you not love him?!

Pet Sitter

Carlow

Billy

Billy ironically enough is a people person over dogs.He would hop into your lap first chance he gets an snuggle down for a nap and loves time with his best buddy Lily in the picture.#BillyandLily

Tilly

Tilly is almost 10 and completely blind. You would never know though as she is fiercely independent and enjoys sunning herself in the garden and loving on everyone whether they want love or not. She loves to spoon at night time and enjoys her dreamy treats. She can stand her ground and let’s our other cat know who is boss. She can still chase a noisy bird or two and smells her way to her food bowl.

Cavan

Polaris

Named after the North Star, Polaris is a 6 month old rescue border collie. She is pure white which is rare and she is deaf from birth. She is being trained to respond to hand signals rather than verbal commands. Being deaf does not hold her back, she is just like any other puppy, curious and wants to be involved in everything. Polaris loves her toys, food and being the centre of attention. Polaris would make a great Nose of Tralee and would use this opportunity to highlight that dogs with disabilities who are often overlooked make great pets.

Milo

Milo was adopted from his owners who no longer wanted him, however he scored the jackpot with his new owners as they spoil him. Milo loves people and cuddles, his favourite past time is putting his head out the window of the car to get the wind in his hair. Milo also loves all 4 of his teddies and although will eat anything of the floor, he has still managed to keep all 4 teddies in tac.

Penny

My girl penny would make a great Nose of Tralee as you can see she is loves getting her photo taking! She is so calm and such a lovely girl to get along with other dogs and humans! Some days I think she thinks she is a human as she is that intelligent. It would be a great honour to win for her as she would be a very proud girl!

Clare

Vincent

Vincent is the gift that keeps on giving. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t make us and the people around us laugh. He is a big dog with an even bigger personality and the funniest facial expressions.

Pixie

Just look at that Nose, I got pixie from the Clare pound 11 year’s ago, I love her to bits , I’ve never entered her before in anything, she’s the sweetest and most loving dog you could ever want

Luna is a 12 week old kitten who loves exploring her surroundings and playing with all her toys. Luna would make an excellent Nose of Tralee as she is a chatty little lady who loves to meow back to her humans and snuggle up for a big sleep!

Cork

Willow

Hi. My name is Willow and I am a 4 year old Chocolate Labrador. I would love to be the Nose of Tralee because I love to make people happy and spread joy to everyone I meet, from my family to new friends that I meet while out exploring with my little sidekick Spencer the westie. I would love represent Cork in the Nose of Tralee because we love exploring Cork and showing our friends on Instagram places to visit, but we also love venturing outside Cork too, after-all Ireland is a beautiful country. My family are very important to me, including one of my favourite family members, Ian who has intellectual disabilities which I just see as extra great abilities because he is the bestest friend I could ever have asked for. When we’re not cuddling on the couch, he is playing fetch with me in the garden or bringing me for really fun walks….and also sneaking me treats when others aren’t looking but ssshh don’t tell anyone! Dogs are such an important part to any family and I would love to show people out there that don’t have dogs, how great it is and how much of a difference we can bring to peoples lives. I would be very proud and honoured to be considered for representing Cork and possibly becoming the Nose of Tralee

Alfie

Alfie is THE most amazing, kind, gentle, goofball, that you will ever meet! He is a therapy dog at Midleton CBS Primary School, under the guidance of My Canine Companion. He has such a positive effect on so many people, pupils and staff, every single day. He helps with school refusals, can calm a child about to have a meltdown, gets involved with yoga in one of our ASD classes, has helped children/staff member to overcome their fear of dogs, and just makes people smile every day. He is the heart and soul of our school. It is difficult to articulate with words, what an incredible job that he does, without hesitation, every day. He became a fully qualified therapy dog yesterday, and we celebrated in style. I think Alfie should definitely be a contender in The Nose of Tralee, in recognition of the incredible work that he does within our school community 💚

Kevin

Meet Kevin, the awesome Poochon! This little guy is a ball of energy, always ready to zoom around and have a blast. He’s super smart and picks up new tricks in no time. Kevin is a social butterfly and absolutely loves making new furry and human friends. Whether it’s wagging his tail or curling up for cuddles, he knows how to bring smiles to everyone’s faces. Hanging out with Kevin is like having your best friend constantly by your side!

Derry

Django

Django is definitely the best boy in all the land. He is a big gentle boy who loves icecubes, cake, wheaten bread, going walks, playing with his tennis ball and swimming. He is also the best beggar as no-one can ever say no to him. Everyone who meets Django falls in love with him because he has the most beautiful character and is the best company anyone could ever ask for.

Logan

Logan is just 6 months old and would make a great Nose of Tralee. He loves going on adventure walks. Although perhaps not a “walk” as he stops every 2 seconds for a good sniff and also to greet every person/animal in sight! Logan is such a friendly affectionate pup and as you can see he has been enjoying smiling for photos more recently to show off his new pearly whites!

Ted

Very loveable and loves company loves the camera and to promote wire haired fox terrier too

Donegal

Bono

Bono is a wonderful wee Staffy boy who loves meeting new people! His favourite thing to do is run on the beach and snuggle on the couch. Having 3 legs doesnt hold him back! He comes to work with me at the pub and loves greeting everyone when they come in. Having had a rough start in life, losing his leg in a car accident and unfortunately then losing his owner, Bono is the epitome of a happy ending and how every dog deserves a chance!

Nala

Over the past 7 years nala has brought so much to our lives (including a few eggs from the neighbour’s chicken coops… no chickens were harmed though) She is a big cheeky but lovable pup who loves to mess in the water and will learn any new trick for plenty of treats. She has even mastered the art of pushing her new baby brother Harry on his swing! (Winning a competition in the process) Nala is a brilliant girl and is super competitive. She loves to be ahead of the pack.

Maguire

Maguire (we got him the same day Donegal won the Sam Maguire in 2012, hence the name) was left paralysed at the age of 4 suffering a condition known as IVDD. He was giving only a 10% chance of surviving, however 7 years on he is still going strong. He loves his walks on the beach and around town in his wheels.

Down

Brutus

At only 17 weeks old, Brutus already has a nose that could sniff out roses from miles away, making him the woofect candidate for Nose of Tralee. This chow chow pup has been training for the role his whole fluffy life. With his jowls that nearly drag on the ground and mane that will soon resemble a lion’s, Brutus was simply born to be in the spotlight. Brutus’ nose works in mysterious wheeze. He can detect the faintest aroma of fish and chips from across the county, and can tell the difference between five different types of cheese just by smell alone. While other puppies his age are content with chewing on slippers, Brutus dreams of the meeting every single human he sees. Just thinking about it makes his tail wag at supersonic speeds. With those big round eyes and renowned chow chow charm, Brutus has humans begging for his attention in no time. He greets each and every one with a sloppy kiss and wuffle, ensuring they all feel extra special after they say bye bye. What Brutus lacks in age, he makes up for in enthusiasm, good nature and an unparalleled attraction to anything edible. With a talented nose like his on the case, there is no doubt that Brutus covers all the fun, friends…and food wherever he goes. So what are we waiting for? Let’s make this fluffy lion dog the next Co. Down Nose of Tralee!

Alfie

Alfie is our first dog. He is the calmest boy. He will follow me everywhere. Hes my shadow. He is spoilt rotten and loves nothing more than lying on the sofa. He enjoys his walks, going on adventures, exploring new places and getting covered in dirt. Alfie doesnt always behave though, especially when there is an interesting smell. Hell be off on the search of it and either eat the food or roll in it. Hes had numerous showers to help him smell nice again. Hes also ended up in the vets by eating things he shouldnt. But we wouldnt change him at all. Hes our constant companion and we love him. Everyone who meets him loves him too

Mina

Mina is a feisty little tortoiseshell cat. She was the runt of the litter but has grown up fierce. She will keep you warm in the winter with bedtime snuggles and keep you entertained in the summer as you weed the garden. She’s a keen gardener and can be found asleep on the job in a warm plant pot. She will keep the mice out of the house, catch the flies and alert you to spiders. She’s the best cat in the country. Other less-vampirish photos are available. I just wanted to share her beautiful fangs!

Pet Sitter

Dublin

Farrah

Farrah is a 4 year old shepadoodle. She is our daughter’s autism service dog and her best friend with matching cheeky personalities you never know what mischief they will get up to. Farrah loves kisses and cuddles and playing with her ball. She is a true sweetheart and adored by all

Halloumi

Halloumi is a 3 year old Samoyed. She has the biggest smile and is the master of mischief. Her favourite activities include stealing socks, screaming into the abyss and giving out slaps of love to all her friends. She is also the sweetest pup, she loves getting pets from small humans and has even learned to be gentle and calm around them. Halloumi’s 5 year plan includes: – Mastering sock theft (done) – Winning Nose of Tralee – Qualifying for Crufts – World Domination She would make a great Nose of Tralee and show the world (or Ireland at least) that you can cause endless chaos but also still be the best girl.

Johnny

Clumsy but cute, Johnny (full name: Lord John William Grey) was born in Argentina before crossing the Atlantic to make a new home in Ireland. Since arriving, Johnny has become the nosiest boy in Harolds Cross, winning the heart of every neighbour and passerby who spots the little ginger cat in the window. He has even adopted an Irish dad who he loves to play football with (being Argentinian, Johnny has a better first touch than his father). Hes a real attention-seeker as well not best pleased when Mum and Dad are working instead of paying attention to Johnny. More than just a pretty face, Johnny has got an impressive CV to match his looks. He speaks three languages (Spanish, English, Turkish) and even participated in a pet-training seminar, teaching the other cats and dogs how to give the best high five. When hes not busy greeting the neighbours or playing fetch with his parents, youll find Johnny falling asleep in Mums arms with his tongue sticking out.

Fermanagh

Harley

He is the happiness wee boy despite his disabilities

Cole

Cole is the best buddy we could ever have asked for! Hes a two year old golden doodle who loves to explore and play with his pals. He also loves to snooze most of the day and get lots of treats! Hes a good natured gentle giant who wants nothing but a good belly rub

Florence

Hello I’m Flo and I’m back for another go to try and be this years Nose of Tralee. Last year I was just a pup, now I’m all grown up. I’m half Springer, half Cocker, so I’m an adorable Sprocker. I’m very good and love to please, training me is such a breeze. I love the water, especially the sea, the beach is my favourite place to be. My nose is incredible, I can find anything you hide, especially if its edible! I’m so focused when I’m finding things, you can’t distract me with anything. I love to have a job to do, find it, fetch it, I’ll always help you. I love lots of cuddles and fuss, a snooze on a lap for me is a big plus. My zest and love of life is a joy to see for everyone who is lucky enough to meet me. I’ve got the best nose and I’m pretty as a rose, so please vote for me to be this years Nose of Tralee!

Galway

Dougie Three-Legs

Dougie had a very hard life before being rescued. He was a feral boy living on a farm in connemara, where he had a very bad accident which cost him one of his legs and his tail. He was brought to the vet to be euthanized, but the vet kindly decided to save his life. He was taken in by Renvyle Cat & Dog Rescue where he lived and recovered until he came to his forever home in Galway city a year and a half ago. He is the most loved and cherished boy. He enjoys drinking water from his Mummy’s glass, cheese, and going for long walks in his special cat pram. We think he really deserves to win the Nose of Tralee, because he is the sweetest and loveliest boy in the world, and he’s so happy, even with his special needs.

Ozzy

Ozzy is a very brave boy. He is a rescue kitten I fostered, now adopted. He has an incurable liver disease. Unfortunately cats with this diagnosis rarely live past a year old. Ozzy is now 9months old and full of life. He is on a strict diet and can’t be neutered due to his illness, so I accompany him on his outdoor explorations. He never fusses when he has to take his medication twice a day every day. He’s a very loveable boy and gives a high five for a treat. He is full of energy and loves to play. If Ozzy wins he will donate his prize to Galway Cat Rescue as they paid his vet bills when he was a kitten.

Cooper

Cooper is the most kindest, funniest, friendliest and caring Staffordshire Bill Terrier, he shows the biggest heart and affection anyone could ask for. Cooper

Cooper is an 8 month old Golden Retrieber and would make the best nose of Tralee as he is my best friend and companion who helped me get over the passing of my beloved 1st pony that I had for 16 yrs. He goes everywhere with me and loves going to daycare with his doggy friends. He would love to win Nose of Tralee!

Kevin

Kevin is a two year old Labrador retriever. He is the sweetest boy and will kill you with kisses, he loves to play and have lots of cuddles but what makes him extra special is he recently donated his blood to help a very sick doggy and was so brave we are very proud of him!

Ruby

I think our Ruby would make a good nose of Tralee due to her lovely soft nature. Everyone that meets her falls in love with her and shes not afraid to steal your man/woman. Ruby is a 9 year old greyhound, we adopted her over 3 years ago, she was a shy nervous insecure little thing when we brought her home. It took a lot of time and patience but we built up her confidence and now shes a confident sassy little diva. 2 years ago this month we almost lost her due to a twisted gut, she had to have emergency surgery and stay in UCD for a number of days. We didnt think she would pull through but she fought against all the odds and made it through to the other side. We would love for Ruby to win the nose of Tralee considering everything that she has been through. We cherish every extra day we get with her with lots of cuddles, car rides and pandering to her every need. Thanks for taking the time to consider Ruby she is the light of our life.

Wilson

Wilson the greyhound would be the perfect nose of Tralee not just for the obvious reason of being really really ridiculously good looking.. but for his keen eye for fashion, great taste in treats and charity work. He has never let his poor start in life as a rescue hold him down. Wilson is an aspiring actor due to his mommy never ending filming of him he also is a model for roaches weekly magazine the most prestigious greyhound how to sleep like a dead cockroach read. Wilson is a friend of the LGBTQA+ community and loves everyone no matter their background… unless you are a bee.. aka spicy raisin. Wilson may not be strong willed, or very active, he’s unsure of new surroundings and he hates the wooden floor in his forever home and sure he might bark at his own shadow from time to time but he is also a gentle giant who just wants to make you smile.. so true he may not be a perfect fluffy Bichon frise puppy (boring..) but who doesn’t love an under dog Vote Wilson.. a dog for change.. yes we can.

Phoebe

Hello! My name is Phoebe. I am 6 years old and a puggle/terrior cross. I have a lot of beagle traits, mainly being exceptionally adorable, funny, mischievous, friendly, intelligent and most of all greedy!!  My humans adore me and I am one spoilt pup living in the lap of luxury in County Laois!  Some of my favourite pastimes include keeping watch over the neighbourhood, snatching forbidden objects, ignoring commands, going on walkies with my friends, snuggles on the couch and begging for food!! I can sit and lie down, but only if there are treats involved!! I hate thunder, lightning and heavy rain and like to hide in the hotpress during bad weather! I love to eat more than anything and will happily taste anything and everything on offer! In fact, I like to live by the motto “If it’s reachable, it’s eatable!” I am also known to trick the humans into thinking I have never been fed, often resulting in 2 dinners!!  I am the most loyal and loveable companion and bring so much joy to my family I’d love to be crowned the Nose of Tralee, because this sniffer is capable of finding the exact location and proximity of the nearest crumb!!

Kylo

I believe kylo would make a great nose of Tralee as he is truly the definition of a mans best friend. Kylo loves adventures, Zoomies time and playing with his humans and toys. At the end of the day he loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch for a cuddle. But most importantly he has one big nose to make him shine as the nose of Tralee

Moonbeam

Because he is magic and a pure star

Louth

Winston

Winston is not only the best boy in the country but he also shows that having a disability shouldnt hold you back from living a great life. Winston suddenly lost his eyesight last august, right before we were due to move home from Canada. He had to have emergency surgery to have his eyes removed. Hes remained a positive happy dog and has adapted beautifully. His nose works extra hard as he has no eyesight and therefore should definitely win Nose of Tralee. We also share his journey and progress over on instagram at @winstontheaussalier

Lottie

Because she is a wee sweetheart and she is such a cute gorgeous girl

Tina

Tina is such a gentle loving lil gal who loves life, playing, children and cuddles. Shes got me through some tough times and is such a sensitive soul to my emotions that I would be lost without her. I dont even think she realises his special she is. Always wakes up happy and loves snuggling up to me every night since she was 8 weeks old

Mayo

Rua

My name is Rua and I am a red fox Labrador. I serve as Mum’s supervisor when she works from home. I also make sure she gets sufficient exercise walking me. I love to hunt scents and play with my kong stix. I help Mum raise funds for her friend’s Labrador Rescue. I bark at strangers to keep my neighbourhood safe. I am well trained and obedient apart from an odd streak of stubbornness. I have lots of doggy friends and am helpful when doggies are in training as I love to show them the ropes. Mum says I am good with older people because I am gentle with them. I save my crazy stuff for Mum. I am also very good with mini humans and don’t over power them. I get taken everywhere that there is dog friendly accommodation because I am really good on holiday. I have been to Portugal for 3 months and went on holiday to Scotland last summer. I had a really great time and was well behaved everywhere I went. Please vote for me in the Nose of Tralee and vote a lot. I will be very happy to get lots of votes because I have turned into a really good boy.

Holly

Hi, my name is Holly. I live in Louisburgh, County Mayo with my mum Louise and my dad Mikey. I was a really lucky puppy and I was rescued by NWSPCA in Ballina as I was straying and not being looked after which made me really sad. I was taken in and looked after by a really lovely man called Tom. My mum and dad adopted me and I have been the happiest girl ever since. Unfortunately due to trauma that I endured as a little girl I am a little bit nervous especially when I meet new people but once I get to know you I will smother you in kisses and cuddles. I have had a tough life which you can see from the little scars on my face and my nervous disposition but I have come such a long way. I love to go travelling around Ireland and Scotland with my pawrents and sleeping in hotel beds (not a massive fan of camping even though my pawrents think its great as Im more into the luxury life at the moment). My favourite things to do are zooming around the garden and then relaxing in my little grass nests I make for myself. I love snoozing especially in my Mammy and daddys bed. I love to play with my friends and my cousins but sometimes Im a bit bouncy but thats just because Im a Saluki Lurcher and I like to play like that! My favourite treats are the most stinky ones like cod sticks and dried calamari! I did say I like luxury! I would love to win Nose of Tralee and promote how amazing Sighthounds are as pets because unfortunately in Ireland they are one of the most neglected and abused breeds but are well and the truly the best pets ( well I think I am the best anyways). There are so many lovely doggies just like me looking for forever couches and whoever ends up adopting my friends will have the most fun ever (90% of the fun will be relaxing on the couch). Please consider my extremely long nose as the 2023 Nose of Tralee.

Milly

Milly is our little precious pet. She is 18 years old. She loves her head/face rubs and cuddles. We love her so much and she is such a little trooper for her age x

Despite having an extremely difficult start to life, being left starved, alone and tied up, this pup is one of the happiest and friendliest youll ever meet! Ozzys playfulness hasnt just benefited his humans by keeping them endlessly entertained but it has also benefited many foster doggys that have struggled to come out of their shells. Ozzy is a social, dog about town and you can find him sitting outside schools in the morning being greeted with lots of pets or out on the town over the weekend in our dog friendly locals! This spirit and character (along with his dashing good looks) would make Ozzy the perfect Nose of Tralee!

Éire

Hi everyone, this is Éire he’s an Irish Red Setter born in Donegal but now Lives in Navan Co. Meath. He’s 8 months old and very very bold. During the night he loves to chew up Mummy’s work shoes and Daddy’s socks.
We’ve had Éire in the family since he was 10 weeks old and at first, he was extremely shy. However, it didn’t take Éire long to snap out of his ways. He now proudly lays claim to our bed, our sofa, and our food presses!
He wakes Daddy up religiously for his walk at 7 every morning with a big sloppy kiss. He’s super sociable around people and especially with other dogs that he meets, the kids absolutely love him and have nicknamed him scooby doo. He loves to run through the long grass fields beside our house and to swim in the river Boyne.
Éire is taken part in his first ever charity fundraiser with his Daddy for The Irish Heart foundation Walk 100km with Your Dog in June Facebook Challenge. So far together they have raised 150e and have 40km to go for this great cause.
Éire has brought loads of extra fun and laughter to our lives, and we love him dearly and couldn’t imagine our days without him xx.

Chase

My chasey baby would make a great nose of Tralee because I mean just look at him!!!! We adopted him as a Jack Russell and we got his dna done and hes a Pomeranian mixed with a parson terrier. He is the biggest joy of our lives and the funniest/ most human dog Ive ever met. Sometimes he even speaks!!!

Monaghan

Bella

Bella is a loving 12 year old pup, who enjoys walking and swimming. She is enjoying her golden years and would make a great Nose of Tralee. she wants everyone to know that white facial hair denotes experience not age.

Maisie

Maisie is the most lovable, social & cuddly dog. She brings joy to all who meet her. I call her the therapy for all. She’s loved by the kids, adults & even the post man! Xx

SKYE

Our Girl Skye, came from a Animal Rescue Center with her 5 siblings on a cold October Morning back in 2017. They were found in a cardboard box in a wet field in Co Monaghan They were taken in and cared for by the local rescue center . They all had cat flu and were very malnourished. Skye was the only one of the litter to survive. She was adopted by her loving owners Mary & John, who brought her back to perfect health . Smotherd her with love, kindness, cuddles, and plenty of affection. She is now a happy, loving girl. Her favourite item to play with is paper bags of any kind. She also takes over her owners bed, she spreads herself out like she is a Goddess, and when she is comfortable, she will not move for anyone. She has her comforts in life , which she truly deserves, from what she came from, she is a little fighter, and I feel she would be a great Co Monaghan Nose of 2023. As quoted by “St Francis of Assis cat purring on your lap is more healing than any drug in the world, as the vibrations you are receiving are of pure love and contentment. Ain’t that the truth Please vote for Skye to represent Co Monaghan Thank you ..

Offaly

Lady Gaga

Like her namesake she is a real diva – of the feline variety  Even though she was BORN THIS WAY with her POKER FACE we still love her  She is living on The EDGE OF GLORY with not a BAD ROMANCE in sight

Holly

Holly is according to my son who has ASD, the “best girl”. She’s so lovable, gentle and loves getting up to mischief

Dougal

After a ruff start to life, since being rescued two years ago, Dougal has come on leaps and bounds. When we first met him he was scared of everyone and everything, but now hes a happy, confident and silly guy who loves meeting new people, playing hand paw and chilling out with his brother Alan the cat. Hes silly and goofy and lovely and were so happy he joined our family.

Roscommon

Freya

Freya is our families baba. Shes happy, joyful, silly and brings a smile to all our faces. She enjoys playing football, fetch (still practicing the return) and loves a good snuggle. Shes the life and soul of the family. Playful with all ages and friendly with her two brothers waggles and muffin. She would make a great nose of Tralee with all her beautiful colours radiant throughout her body. Being a potential cross between a German Shepard and a collie she has the white chest and toes of a collie but has tones of Black and Tan brown throughout the rest of her body. Shes beautiful inside and out and we love her very much.

Buddy

Buddy is a mixture of a pitbull and a whippet with a heart of gold. Buddy is the best friend a human could get if you ever needed one . Because of his breed everyone is always fearful. People who are Terrified of dogs absolutely love him once they meet him and realize that he is such a sweetie with a huge personality. Buddy is the most lovable baby that loves to greet people with a hug. He’s so outgoing and sociable. I think he would make a great nose of tralee as it can help educate people to not always judge the breed of the animal as it’s the way they are raised. If owners are more careful with their fur babies and read the signs of their dog being anxious or uncomfortable then alot of accidents can be prevented. Buddy’s lovable personality shows every day as he’s great with people from all walks of life. He knows how to adapt to different personalities and abilities and is so gentle. Buddy is only 2 and he’s the smartest baby you’ll ever come across always learning quickly especially when it comes to food. Buddy looks after a disabled cat and loves do be company for a blind horse. When he visits his nanny he’s so gentle knowing the difference of abled bodied people. His favourite thing to do is travel the country with me and I always feel protected. He’s a great guard and the gentlest giant too. His personality shines through and you’ll never have a bad day when he’s cuddled into you. When you walk in the door whether it be 5 mins or 5 hours he’s always ready to greet you as if he hasn’t seen you in years. Dogs give so much for their humans and this is why I think buddy deserves to be entered into the nose of tralee as he is just the best friend. He gives so much never expecting anything in return and it’s always 110% I could rant and rave about him all day and never have enough to say. He really is my best friend and my little fur baby and deserves the most in life.

Bella

Bella does so much for us as a family, you always make us laugh with your funny habits. Your a great companion when I need a friend. When youre naughty you own up to your actions, giving them sad eyes, and your honest if you dont like what treats I give you, they will be left. Your great company and the best thing that has happened to our family. Your always by my side.

Sligo

Lola

At the grand age of 23, Lola has life all figured out. She was adopted after almost two years in a foster home, at the age of 20 1/2, all so she could accompany her (former) foster humans when they emigrated to Ireland back in 2020. Her favourite hobbies are napping, birdwatching, and pushing much younger cats off the furniture in an attempt to recreate the scene from the lion king. Lola would make a great Nose of Tralee because older cats are so often overlooked for adoption, but have so much life, love and (in Lola’s case) mischief left in them.

Milo

Milo would make a brilliant nose of Tralee because hes such a joyful energetic pup that just loves attention and a bit of love. He is very popular with loads of humans and doggys in sligo. Milo is intelligent when theres treats but extremely cuddly

Arthur

This photo was taken the day before Arthur was hit by a car and badly injured. He is recovering well and has been such a great patient despite being in alot of pain. We love him more than ever because we nearly lost him. He is timid, quirky, spontaneous and so handsome.

Tipperary

Podge

Podge is a gorgeous fawn coloured Pugalier (mix between a Pug and a Cavalier King Charles) and he is nearly 3 years old. He is the baby of the house and is adored by everyone. Podge’s special talent is his ‘head tilt’. When you mention his favourite words or other dogs names or sometimes just talking to him in general, he tilts his head from side to side. He is the best licker, he loves licking peoples legs and in particular any cuts they may have. He is the happiest dog despite having suffered blood poisoning followed by a stroke when he was only 6 months old and had to undergo two blood transfusions in order to save him. He loves playing and long walks, in particular he enjoys exploring different locations in Tipperary. He loves to bark at other dogs to communicate with them and show them who is boss, but really he’s afraid of his life but likes to make them think he’s not. Podge is unique in every way and such a lovable rouge!

Eevee

This is Eevee our 5 month old cavapoochon. She is the most lovable crazy little pup you would ever meet. She loves everybody and every dog she meets and just loves cuddles and kisses. She has been my saviour during a tough few months while dealing with a horrible rheumatoid arthritis flare up leaving me not able to work. Which brought on a very tough few months making me very anxious and depressed, her little personality saved me. She is a fun loving dog who loves her walks with her daddy and grandad. I have so many photos of her which I found so hard to pick from but the one I decided to go with was her smiling up at her daddy while out on a walk. She is such a little character, she has us laughing all day at her from her little snorts she does to the crazy zoomies after her walks which have her bouncing all over the house. She is my fluffy best friend and I would be lost without her.

Ciara

Ciara is an 8 month old British Bulldog who lives here with her brother Kevin! Ciara is the ultimate princess and a total diva! Her favourite thing to do is sit on the picnic bench! She loves bananas, peanut butter and blueberries! Ciara would love to be Nose of Tralee and represent not only the Bully Breeds, but the curvy ladies too!

Waterford

MoMo

Greetings, wonderful people! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Momo, a 16-year-old Maltese who embarked on an extraordinary adventure two years ago. It all began when I hopped on a plane from Taiwan and discovered my new home in the enchanting land of Waterford, Ireland. As time has passed, age has caught up with me, bringing along a few health challenges such as dementia, a delicate heart, and creaky joints. However, my mommy showers me with endless love and affection, and together we continue to explore the enchanting parks and heritage sites of Ireland. Additionally, we have discovered many delightful pet-friendly cafes that bring joy to my furry little heart! Furthermore, we document these wonderful journeys on social media, allowing people from around the world to witness the beauty of Ireland. It brings us great happiness to share our experiences and spread the love for this amazing country. But that’s not all! My mommy has gone above and beyond by establishing an online community – the Senior Dog/Dog Owners Advice and Support Group, to share the experiences of caring for senior dogs like me. She supports and guides other owners who find themselves with furry companions entering their golden years. You see, even though I may not possess the same energy and agility I once had, my heart overflows with boundless love. Every single moment spent with my mommy is treasured, and our bond grows stronger with each passing day! Wishing you all an abundance of love and warm cuddles!

Izzy

Izzy (frizzy Izzy, Izzy bear) our 10 months old rescue ,Izzy is a Mammut Bulldog, an affectionate, cuddly ,furry bear. Izzy loves cuddles and snuggles, cats ,children, other dogs for horse play ,playing in the sea ,she is definitely part seal ,and loves to play with cat toys and of course ” Fetch” but with 2 tennis balls She has been stopped on walks many times, just to get her photo taken, which of course she loves, folks say she’s interesting or unusual looking doggo,we just call her beautiful and adorable. Izzy is so trusting even though she had been through so much in her short little life so far, and would make an amazing Nose Of Tralee

Russell O’Donnell

I think Russell would make a great Nose of Tralee… As you can see from his picture, his favorite pastime is giving hugs. All you have to do is say ‘can I have a hug Russ’ and up he climbs. He’s only 9 months old, and he’s the cleverest happiest little fella with the waggiest tail in the history of wags!! He’s always up for playing, chasing, stealing socks or swimming in the sea. He NEVER gets tired and he adores his golden retriever brother. He’s also full to the brim of divelment. And is beyond obsessed with chasing birds. He saw a hare once but he was so excited he didn’t even move. I think he still dreams of that day .. We live 5 minutes from the stunning Goat Island in Ardmore, Co Waterford so Russell and his brother get to go down to swim in the sea most days. He’s not a natural swimmer but if there’s a bird around he’d go out as far as the Stena! He’s loved so much by everybody that meets him, and I’m not surprised because he gives so much love to friends and strangers alike. Hes a cross between a springer and a red setter, which explains the beautiful red wavey tints in his ears. People ask us do we give him highlights!! We definitely do not. He’s just a unique special little beauty. And absolutely one of a kind. Which is why I think Russell O Donnell would be a super Nose Of Tralee 🙂

Alfie

Hi everyone! My name is Alfie! & I am a rescued Boxador from Ash Animal Rescue. I am almost 13 & a half years old. My Mum adopted me in 2010 after I was thrown out of a car still in my amniotic sac. My Mum would love me to win the Nose Of Tralee as I saved her life (On a few occasions) Firstly when she was having an asthma attack before I went & got help from a neighbour. A year later a tea towel went on fire in the kitchen & I alerted her of that. Lastly & more importantly my Mum & I were in a very abusive relationship for 4 years. My Mum got us out of there to save me. She gets very emotional when telling this story but to keep it short, a Garda got on his knee & told me I saved my Mums life. He saved if it hadnt been for me that my Mum would be leaving in a coffin. She only left to save me & honestly I feel she got us both out of there at just the right time. I have 2 uncles who are also rescue, Jack, a Patterdale Jack Russell Cross & Chico, a Parsons Russell Terrier Cross. I also have a sister, Elsa who is a reduced kitty. We are super close. Before she was neutered she had a litter of kittens & my Mum has videos of me helping Elsa during her labour. I kept licking her face & cleaning her kittens to mind them all during birth. The kittens all used to climb all over me & Id play with them gently so I was the cool uncle! In 2019 I damaged ligaments in my left leg while playing fetch & sadly they never recovered. I now have radial paralysis in my left wrist so I have to hope everywhere. I am still a very very happy & fun boy but do struggle with mobility. As of June 2023 a charity in England is making me a customised wheelchair & we cannot wait! We are so excited for it to arrive! I also have a special dog mobility pram that my Grandparents got me for Christmas last year & my Mum takes me out & I get to still enjoy the views, the sniffs & meeting people. I adore people! I love people of all ages & am so gentle with children, I love children! I am on Instagram (@Alfie.The.Boxador) & people follow me to see my adventures. I love showing that life can still be wonderful despite my mobility issues. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! My Mum doesn’t know I’ve entered so shhhh! What a surprise it would be to her if I won! Lots of love, licks & cuddles, love Alfie XxXxX
