Glamping With Pets: Pet Friendly Accommodation in Ireland

Glamping with pets

When I think of camping I think of cold, hard ground and lots of spiders. Something that definitely does not appeal to me at all. Glamping on the other hand is something that I would love to do and Glamping with my pets would be even better. It’s hard to find pet friendly accommodation in Ireland so I was excited to learn about the new booking website ‘Glamping with Pets’ that combines fancy camping with spending time with your dog.

What Is Glamping?

Glamping is “A form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.”

It’s basically a chance to enjoy the outdoors but miss out on all the elements of camping that you might not enjoy like setting up your tent, reading by torch light and washing yourself with baby wipes!

Glamping With Your Pets In Ireland

If you are thinking that Glamping is only available in America, then you are wrong. You will be pleased to know that there are quite a few places in Ireland starting at around $90 per night.

We looked on the Glamping with Pets booking site for some different options in Ireland.

Rustic Gypsy Caravans in Wicklow

These gorgeous caravans sleep up to 4 and have cooking facilities and space to hang your clothes. Something you definitely don’t get with traditional camping. They don’t have private bathroom facilities but they do have onsite shared facilities.

Wicklow is a beautiful place to visit so I am sure there are some fabulous views to enjoy as well.

Eco-Friendly, Pet-Friendly Yurts on Cider Orchard, Drumkeeran

A real bed is probably the biggest plus to glamping for me so this looks like the perfect place to visit. These are eco-friendly yurts that have been made with locally sourced materials. With room for 4 people, plus dogs, there is a wood burning stove in the centre of the Yurt to keep everyone nice and warm at night.

There are shared bathroom and cooking facilities on the site that all glampers can use. Also, located next to the site is a children’s play area.

Glamping In Donegal – Lough Mardal Lodge

Set lakeside these skydome yurts are true luxury. They are fully insulated and therefore open all year round – so no chance of feeling the cold with your warm stove burning. Just lie in bed staring up at the stars through your clear sky dome and enjoy the total peace and quiet.

The location also has a communal lodge area with include a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, dining area, toilets and hot showers. Here you can have a coffee and read a book, play cards, meet fellow travellers or plan the day’s activities. This area is gadget free…BUT..don’t panic there is a designated area in the Lobby where guests are free to use their mobile devices, along with charging-points.

Glamping Pods in Northern Ireland

Fancy a trip North with friends then why not visit these glamping pods. I love the design of them and the layout of the pods. Perfect for a group/family trip and plenty of space for the dogs to run around.
