Could Your Dog Be A Star Of The Opera In Dublin?

Dog Opera DublinDoes your dog have star quality? Do they fancy their paw at acting? Well your dog could just get the chance they have always been waiting for and star in an Opera in Dublin which is coming for one night on Saturday 6th November.

There is one role left to fill in the production of La Boheme playing at the Helix in Dublin and the role could belong to your dog!

Award-winning opera director and producer Ellen Kent said: “People say never work with children or animals but I love to do both. The first time was 20 years ago when my pet cat Holly Go-Lightly was in one of my productions and was an instant hit. Since then we’ve had horses, goldfish and even a golden eagle with a 6ft wingspan on stage.

“When we last did La Boheme and asked local people to volunteer their pets it was a huge success. We even used a rescue dog once and found him dozens of new owners!”

“We’re a nation of animal lovers after all. I’m sure there is plenty of doggie talent out there.” (Source: Joe.ie)

Not Sure What To Expect From the Opera?

Here is a little taster of what to expect.

Do you think your dog has what it takes to be the next star of the Opera?

The Irish are huge animals lovers and I am sure there will be a lot of interest in the role. It would be a fantastic opportunity for any rescue to put forward a dog and find them a new home in the process.

You will be pleased to know that it’s quite simple to register your dog’s interest. (ooh and did I mention you need to go on stage too to look after your dog!)

Requirements for the super star dog are:

Small and well behaved. (Simple right?)

To Register your interest:

Send a photograph to Jules Bath at jules@ellenkent.co.uk

Include a contact number and also details of your dog (breed, weight, height, age and of course their name)

Let us know in the comments below if you decide to put your dog forward – we’d love to hear all about it!
