Best Places To Walk Your Dog In Kildare
#1. Punchestown, Kildare
Punchestown is located in Naas and you will probably know it as Punchestown Racecourse.
Punchestown do allow you to walk your dog there, as long as you keep them on the lead. It’s a lovely place to take them, but make sure to clean up after them.

#2. Castletown House, Celbridge
Located in Celbridge Co Kildare the Castletown House is set in the most stunning grounds and it’s a perfect spot to take your pooch.
There is a café located on site with lots of choices for food and drink.
There are also guided tours of the house that you can attend and an app which you can download to take the tour yourself.
The house is open seven days a week, including Bank Holiday Mondays, from 10:00 to 17:00.

#3. Mullaghreelan Woods, Castledermot Road
The Mullaghreelan woods are a beautiful location and perfect for a great walk with your dog. There is a car park at the entrance with picnic benches and a sign outlining the layout of the woods.
The walks themselves are uphill in parts and so it might not be suited to everyone.
The views though are amazing and there are lots of places to take the perfect picture.

#4. St Catherine’s Park, Leixlip
St. Catherine’s Park is located in 3 counties – Fingal, Kildare, and South Dublin. The park is 200 acres of woodland and grass land, with the river Liffey dividing South Dublin County Council from the remainder of the park.
The park is open from dawn till dusk, with unlimited pedestrian access from Glendale Estate in Co Kildare.

#5. Donadea Forest, Donadea, Co Kildare
Located five miles from Clane and only 20 minutes from Dublin City Centre.
There are lots of historical features in the forest including the remains of the castle, the church and boat house. There is also a memorial for 9/11 and a lot of birds near the lake.

#6. Killinthomas Woods, Rathangan
Killinthomas Woods is 200 acres within 1 mile of Rathangan village.
The woods have lots of signposted walks which make is a great place to take your dog and vary the walk each time. The woods are very pretty with lots of flowers in the summer.
It has good car parks, entrance is free and it is readily accessible for all.
