Special Skill Max is such a clever boy! One of his best skills is doing his tricks as Gaeilge, he’s a little genius!
Favourite food Max’s favourite foods are lamb puffs, apple slices and sweet potato! 🐶
Favourite Toy Max’s favourite toy is, without a doubt, his tennis ball! He absolutely loves it and would happily spend all day chasing it, his most prized possession! 😂
Favourite Place to Sleep Max’s favourite place to sleep is my bed because apparently his own bed is just for decoration! 😂
Favourite Activity Max’s favourite activity is playing fetch! He could chase his tennis ball all day long and still somehow want “just one more throw!” 😂
Favourite Place to go for a Walk/Hangout Max’s favourite places for a walk are Duckett’s Grove and Altamont Gardens. He loves exploring, sniffing everything and enjoying all the beautiful scenery just as much as his owner! 🐾🌿 We also enjoy visiting some of our locals buisnesses like Doyle’s Parlor or Barrow Brew for a puppuccino.
Most mischievous thing you have ever done? One of the most mischievous things Max done was he decided the freshly bloomed roses were far too beautiful to leave alone, so he robbed them from the garden and had himself a grand old time playing with his stolen flowers!
How did you come into your owner’s life? He came into my life as a little puppy from Cavan looking for his forever home and somehow he ended up finding his forever human too. The moment I saw Max, I just knew he was meant to be part of my life. I completely fell in love with him straight away, those beautiful eyes and that cheeky little face made it impossible to say no!
What makes you the most pawtastic pet ever? Max is the most perfect pet because he has the biggest heart and the funniest little personality. He’s incredibly loving, always there to brighten my day and somehow knows exactly when I need a cuddle. He’s not just a pet, he’s my best friend, my little shadow friend and a huge part of my family. I honestly couldn’t imagine my life without him.
Why did you decide to enter the Nose of Tralee? We absolutely love entering Max in the Nose of Tralee every year because it’s such a fun and lovely way of showing how special and loved he truly is. We feel incredibly lucky that Max was chosen to represent Carlow this year, it really is such a special honour for us and we can’t wait to enter again next year.
How did you prepare for the contest and get votes? We went around to local businesses who were so kind to display Max’s posters and we shared his voting link every day across his social media. The support from everyone was incredible especially from a small county.
What did you enjoy most about the Nose of Tralee? What we enjoyed most was making so many new friends and creating amazing memories with Max. It’s been such a special experience that we’ll treasure forever and we’re so grateful for everyone we met along the way!
What advice would you give to the next Nose of your County? My advice would be to enjoy every minute, get out there and don’t be afraid to ask for support! Share your journey, make lots of memories and most importantly, have fun with your pet.
How are you handling your newfound fame? We’re absolutely loving our newfound fame! It’s been such a lovely experience seeing so much love and support for Max. He’s taking it all in his stride although I think he’s starting to believe he’s a bit of a celebrity!
If you could be any superhero who would you be? If Max could be any superhero it would definitely be Speedball, aka Robbie Baldwin, he has the power to bounce around at incredible speed using kinetic energy basically like a human pinball! With Max’s endless energy and obsession with tennis balls, he’d be the perfect Speedball! 😂
Where can your fans follows you online? Our fans can follow Max on Instagram and TikTok @max_thepomsky_ ❤️ Follow along for all his adventures, cheeky moments, tennis-ball madness and of course, plenty of cuteness!
