Meet your Longford celebrity – the 2022 Longford Nose of Tralee, Kobe.
Name: Kobe
County: Longford
Age: 4 years ( it was my birthday 1st September)
Breed: A collie x golden retriever
Special Skill: My special skill is tumbling in any available bed & tossing the covers!!
Favourite Food: Chicken ( sorry Minnie !!)
Favourite Toy: All my toys are my favourites especially when someone comes into the house I will grab any toy to show them 😊
Favourite Place to Sleep: My fav place to sleep – anywhere!! When I was born I was kept in a shed on straw but I have my own personal sofa – spoilt much xx
Favourite Activity: My favourite activity: walks anywhere, drives anywhere, watching my friends the big dogs ( horses ) in the field behind the house and finally just being with the humans in my family. I’m included in every family photo no matter what the occasion.
Most Mischievous Thing You Have Ever Done? The most mischievous thing I ever did was chew the broadband wires literally hours after it was installed!! It meant my humans had to pay for a second installation the next day 😭🤣
How Did You Come Into Your Owners Life? I was on my way to a pound in County Mayo when I was diverted to my lovely home in Longford 🥰
What Makes You The Most Pawtastic Pet Ever! My beautiful nature, as well as pretty looks & glossy coat.
Why Did You Decide To Enter The Nose Of Tralee? Kobe was entered into the competition because every person she has ever met has complimented her beautiful nature, as well as her pretty looks & glossy coat. She ticks all the boxes as Good Dog Ambassador. Plus loved all the photos & all the meeting of even more people once the voting started. And we hope Kobe’s campaign made more people aware of our chosen charity Cian’s Kennels.
What Did You Enjoy Most About The Nose Of Tralee? We meet people now who say that’s our Longford Nose of Tralee. A pet is a wonderful icebreaker & this competition really broke a lot of ice. Even today I was stopped on the street & had people asking me “was it your doggy that was in the competition?”
What Advice Would You Give To The Next Nose Of Your County? The main thing for the 2023 Noses to do is enjoy the competition. You see so many wonderful pets in all forms & some of them have had terrible starts in life, for example our wonderful Nose of Tralee Sadie. And it proves you can get a less than perfect pet who turns out to be the Best In their county & in the country. This is what’s needed to be remembered so those terrible people who run puppy mills will stop this awful abuse because hopefully people will refuse to want perfection.
Thank you to Kate & all at Pet Sitters Ireland for running this marvellous competition.
