Carlow Nose Of Tralee

Most Mischievous Thing You Have Ever Done. Stole meat from the fridge when Mary turned her back for a few seconds.

How Did You Come Into Your Owners Life?   I was in Waterford pound & despite my amazing good looks and personality; nobody was interested (due to my medical condition)

Mary is a volunteer with A Dog’s Life and ADL took me out and into foster care.   My 1st foster mum needed someone to mind me over the xmas period in 2017 –  Mary had just experienced a big loss as her beloved collie Jesse passed away aged 14 in Oct 2017 & his pal Prince age 14 also passed away 2 weeks later, he missed Jesse so much he just gave up.   I think fate intervened as her other doggie Annie was lonely – Mary, Peg & Annie  were sad and needed a burst of happiness so I appeared at the right time and never left. My gran Peg who is 83 and she & I just adore each other we have a very special bond, there was no way I was going anywhere so they adopted me.  Everyone says I am the most special girl in the world, and even though I may not be in this world for long, I will make my mark on everyone I meet.

What Makes You The Most Pawtastic Pet EVER!

I love everyone, I love my sister Annie who’s a little staffie, also a rescue girl – my mum Mary and gran Peggy are my best buds, I visit Peg everyone morn to make sure she had a good night sleep, we have rubs and then I let her sleep for a little while longer.  We are best buds who look after each other as we both have a little arthritis.  She brings me for little walks as we both walk quite slowly and she chats to me and I listen to every word.  Life is so much fun, I live in the countryside where I see my friends the donkeys every day. Peg has hens and ducks whom I chat to on my walk with Peg.  I may walk a little funny but life is for living I say – enjoy it while you can.

Why Did You Decide To Enter The Nose Of Tralee?

I wanted to fly the flag for rescue doggies and show the world that I may look a little funny but I am as cute as everyone tells me, the support & love I received throughout the Nose of Tralee was pawsome.  I also had to follow in my sister Annie’s pawprints as she was the Carlow Nose in a few years ago.  Such a fun and fabulous competition and I got meet so many other amazing pets and their owners

How Did You Prepare For The Contest And Get Votes?

Sent out a little bio to all my friends, contacted my groomer Noeleen from Gizmo Grooming who did a lovely little piece and shared it to all her clients/friends.  Did a piece for Instagram, A Dog’s Life page and A Dog’s Life fostering page. Shared out lovely pics and stories about Romi to all who love her.
